Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Blackrod Home
Whether you live in a modern family home, an inter-war semi or a rural property on the edge of the moors, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, not adapted from something drawn for a different house.

Designed Around Your Home
Designing a kitchen well starts with the room itself. How the light moves through it, how the layout sits within the house, where the natural flow is, where it isn’t. Getting those things right comes before any conversation about door styles or finishes. The visual decisions follow from the spatial ones, not the other way round.
Blackrod sits at the edge of Bolton’s suburbs, where modern estates, inter-war semis and older rural properties all bring different proportions and starting points. A kitchen that works well in one of those homes would not necessarily work in another. Your design begins with your room, the architecture you actually have, not a layout borrowed from somewhere else.
Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot move: these things are resolved at the design stage, not discovered on installation day. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has been drawn, checked and accounted for. The people fitting your kitchen will not be making adjustments on site to cover gaps left at the planning stage.
Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The designer who draws your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made, because the same practice does both.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last
Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves the workshop, not flat-pack components put together in your kitchen. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. When your cabinetry arrives, it arrives as a finished product, ready to go in.
The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you never look at directly are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over time.
Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not working from a catalogue of fixed sizes. If your room needs a cabinet at an unusual width, a run that follows a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that simply does not exist off the shelf, we design and build it to those exact requirements. Nothing is forced to fit.
Everything Handled, From First Conversation to Finished Kitchen
From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress from different contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward because one team holds it from beginning to end.
The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out what to do from there.
Modern family homes in Blackrod come with their own layout logic. Inter-war semis often have original features that need to be respected. Rural properties can bring awkward proportions and non-standard dimensions. Each project starts from where your home actually is, not from a programme drawn up for a straightforward rectangular room in a new build.
Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no last-minute adjustments to cover things that were not fully thought through at the design stage. The process is thorough at the front end so the installation runs cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?
It varies depending on the complexity of your room and the level of detail involved, but most projects run over several months from the initial design conversation to installation. The design and survey stage typically takes a few weeks. Manufacturing runs after that, and installation follows once everything is ready. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project properly.
What happens at the first consultation?
We come to your home in Blackrod, look at the room, and have a proper conversation about what you want your kitchen to do. We are not presenting a portfolio or running through a sales process. We are listening to you, looking at the space, and starting to understand what the right design looks like. There is no obligation at that stage.
Can you work with an unusual room, one with an awkward layout or features that cannot be moved?
Yes, and that is precisely where a bespoke approach makes the most difference. If your room has a chimney breast, a sloping ceiling, an alcove, or walls that are not quite square, those things are resolved in the design. Nothing is forced to fit around a standard cabinet size. The kitchen is drawn around your room exactly as it is.
What kitchen styles do you offer?
Because we design and manufacture every kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to a fixed range. Whether you are drawn to shaker, in-frame, handleless or something more individual, we work from your brief. You can see a broader sense of our kitchen styles and finishes on the site, but the starting point is always your home and what suits it.
What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?
The honest answer is that it depends significantly on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances, and the level of storage and interior detail involved. A fully bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft is a considered investment, and most projects sit in a range where the quality and longevity justify the spend. We will give you an honest, detailed picture once we understand your project. What we will not do is quote a figure before we have seen your space.
How is the kitchen actually manufactured?
Every cabinet is built in our own UK workshop. They arrive at your home fully assembled, not as flat-pack components to be put together on site. That means tighter tolerances, a more consistent finish, and cabinetry that is genuinely built to the dimensions of your room rather than cut down from a standard size on installation day.
Do you manage the full installation, or do I need to organise other trades?
We manage the full installation. You are not left coordinating separate tradespeople or trying to align different schedules. Everything from design through to the finished kitchen is handled by Mastercraft. One team, one point of contact throughout.
Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?
Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, an extension, a reconfiguration of your ground floor, or a full renovation, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful. We can work alongside architects and builders, and because we are responsible for the full kitchen from design through to installation, there is no ambiguity about where one contractor's responsibility ends and another's begins. We are well placed to be part of a larger project from an early stage.
Will the same people be involved throughout the project?
Yes. The designer who works on your kitchen understands how it will be made, because the same practice does both. The installation team knows what was designed and why. There are no handoffs where your plans pass to someone who has never seen them before. That continuity matters, particularly when your room has specific constraints.
I am in Blackrod but close to Bolton or Horwich. Do you cover those areas too?
Yes. We work across the wider area, including Bolton and Horwich. Wherever you are in this part of Greater Manchester, the process is the same: we come to your home, look at the space, and design from there.
How precise are the measurements, and what if my room is not perfectly square?
Very few rooms are perfectly square, and that is not a problem. We survey your room in detail before anything is manufactured. Every cabinet is drawn to the actual dimensions of your space, including any variations in the walls, floor or ceiling. By the time your kitchen is made, every dimension has been accounted for.
How do I get started?
The simplest way is to get in touch and tell us a little about your home and what you are thinking about. We will arrange a visit, come to your home in Blackrod, and have a straightforward conversation about your space. There is no pressure and no obligation at that stage. We just start by looking at the room properly.
