Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Wirral Home
Whether you live in a large detached house in Heswall, a Victorian terrace in Birkenhead, or an estuary-view home on the peninsula, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, from scratch.

A bespoke kitchen design for a Wirral home by Mastercraft Kitchens
Designed Around Your Home
Designing a kitchen well begins before any door style or finish is chosen. It starts with how the room sits in your home: the natural light, how you move through the space, where it connects to other rooms. Layout and proportions come first. The visual decisions follow from those, not the other way around.
Wirral has a wide range of property types, and each brings its own starting point. A large detached home in Caldy has different proportions to a period property in West Kirby or an estuary-facing house in Thurstaston. The architecture sets the context. Your kitchen is designed to sit within it properly, not lifted from a standard range of styles and dropped into your space.
Alcoves, chimney breasts, structural walls, ceiling heights that change across the room: these things are resolved at the design stage, not on the day the fitters arrive. By the time your kitchen goes into production, every dimension is confirmed and every constraint is accounted for. Nothing is improvised at the end.
Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The designer who draws it understands exactly how it will be made and fitted, because that knowledge is part of how they design it.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last
Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves the workshop, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly means tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what that means in practice.
The same standard runs through every part of your kitchen, not just the surfaces you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you rarely look at are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.
Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not working from a fixed catalogue of sizes and configurations. If your room calls for an unusual run, a cabinet built beneath a sloping ceiling, or a dimension that no standard unit would cover, we design and build it to fit exactly. Your room sets the brief, not a range of available options.
Your Wirral Kitchen Project, Handled From Start to Finish
From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress across different contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because the same team holds it throughout. You can see how the process works in more detail if that is useful.
The designers who plan your kitchen understand how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time. The thinking that went into the design is carried through every stage of the project.
Wirral homes vary considerably: large detached houses, older period properties, homes built right on the estuary with their own particular layouts and light. Each project starts from its own terms. Your home is not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house. The process adapts to your space, not the other way around.
Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything goes into production. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site modifications to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage. The fitting goes smoothly because the preparation was thorough.

From large period properties in the prosperous villages along the Dee estuary to suburban homes closer to Birkenhead and the Mersey shore, each project starts from the same point: the design responds to your space. If you are looking at our work across our Merseyside coverage area, Wirral sits at the western edge of that, and we work throughout the peninsula regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from first conversation to installation?
It varies depending on the complexity of your kitchen and how quickly decisions are made, but as a general guide you should allow around three to four months from your initial consultation through to installation being complete. That includes the design process, your approval, manufacturing, and fitting. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project properly.
What happens at the first design consultation?
We come to your home in Wirral, look at the space, and have a proper conversation about how you use it, what you want from the new kitchen, and what is and is not working at the moment. We take note of anything unusual about the room. There is no obligation and no hard sell. It is simply the most useful starting point for both of us.
What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?
Bespoke kitchens vary quite a bit in cost, and it depends on a number of factors: the size of your room, the materials you choose, the number and type of appliances, the level of storage detail, and any specific design requirements. As a general steer, most of our projects sit in the range of £25,000 to £60,000 or more, fully installed. This is a significant investment, and the value of getting it right is that you are not redoing it in a decade. We will give you an accurate quote once we have seen your space and understood what you want from it.
Can you work with unusual room shapes or difficult features like chimney breasts or sloping ceilings?
Yes, and this is exactly where a properly bespoke approach makes the biggest difference. Because we design and build your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or fixed configurations. Chimney breasts, alcoves, sloping ceilings, awkward corners: these are resolved during the design stage so that everything is accounted for before manufacturing begins. Nothing is improvised on site.
What kitchen styles are available?
We do not work from a fixed range of styles, but the most common directions our clients take are shaker, in-frame, and handleless designs, along with more bespoke painted or veneered finishes. Because everything is made to order, there is a great deal of flexibility in door profiles, finishes, colours and details. The right style for your kitchen comes out of the design process, shaped by your home and your taste.
How does the manufacturing process work?
Once your design is confirmed and approved, your kitchen goes into production in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built rigid and fully assembled there, not sent to you as flat-pack components. That means tighter tolerances and a more consistent result. Because we manufacture in-house, we can build to the exact dimensions of your room, including non-standard sizes and specific configurations.
Who carries out the installation?
Our own installation team fits your kitchen. They know the design, they know the way it was built, and they know what was specified at every stage. You are not dealing with a subcontracted fitting crew who are seeing your kitchen for the first time on the day. The same continuity that runs through design and manufacturing continues through to installation.
Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?
Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful in those situations. When your kitchen is part of a wider building project, with an extension, a reconfiguration, or a full ground-floor renovation, the ability to design early, manufacture precisely, and install at exactly the right stage makes a real difference. We can work alongside your architect or builder and coordinate properly. The kitchen does not have to be the last-minute afterthought it so often is in bigger projects.
Do you work throughout the Wirral Peninsula or only in certain areas?
We work throughout Wirral, including Heswall, West Kirby, Hoylake, Caldy, Neston, Bebington, and across to Birkenhead and Wallasey. We also work in Chester and the surrounding area. If you are unsure whether your location is covered, just get in touch and we will confirm.
How involved do I need to be during the project?
As involved as you want to be. The key moments where we need your input are the design stage, when we are making decisions about layout, materials, and finishes, and the point when you approve the final plans before manufacturing begins. After that, we handle everything. You will be kept informed throughout, but you are not expected to manage the process yourself.
Can you supply and fit appliances as part of the project?
Yes. Appliances can be specified and supplied as part of your kitchen project. We work with a range of brands and can advise on what works well for your layout and the way you cook. If you already have appliances in mind, or have ones you want to keep, we design around those from the start.
What if I am not sure where to start or what I want?
That is a perfectly normal place to be at the beginning of a kitchen project, and it is not a problem. The consultation is exactly where those things get worked out. We ask the right questions, look at your space, and help you understand what is possible. You do not need to arrive with a brief ready. Just get in touch and we will take it from there.
