Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Windsor Home

Whatever your home in Windsor looks like, your kitchen should be designed around it, not borrowed from a catalogue and fitted in.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room itself. How the light moves through it, how you enter and leave, how it sits in relation to the rest of the house. Those things shape the layout. Once the layout is right, everything else follows, the proportions, the storage, the way the space feels when you are using it. Visual decisions come after functional ones.

Windsor has a wide range of property types. Georgian townhouses close to the castle. Substantial Victorian and Edwardian detacheds. Riverside homes along the Thames with views and light that are worth designing around. Executive new builds on the edges of town. Each comes with its own proportions, its own quirks, and its own starting point. Your kitchen is designed to sit within your home, not lifted from a drawing produced for a completely different kind of house.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, uneven walls, ceilings that drop where you least expect them, these are resolved at the design stage, not on installation day. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is fixed. There are no surprises when the team arrives on site, because everything has already been accounted for.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One clear process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made and how it will be fitted. Nothing gets lost between one stage and the next.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. What arrives at your home is a finished product, ready to be installed exactly as designed.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts hidden behind closed doors are built to the same standard as the ones on show. That consistency is what determines how well your kitchen performs and holds up over time.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, standard sizes and catalogue configurations do not apply. If your room needs a run of cabinetry at an unusual width, a unit built beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that simply does not exist as an off-the-shelf product, we design and build it exactly as your space requires.

Your Windsor Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation, one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing updates. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps where things can fall through. Everything moves forward because one team holds responsibility from the very beginning to the end.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and trying to work out what was intended.

Windsor homes cover a lot of ground. A Georgian townhouse kitchen near the castle is a completely different project from a riverside property with an open-plan living space, or a new build with a blank canvas to work from. Each brings its own starting point. Your project is considered on its own terms, not slotted into a standard programme that was drawn up for a different kind of home.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to make up for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage. The installation is the straightforward part because the work was done properly before it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from first conversation to installation?

It varies depending on the complexity of the design and the size of the project, but as a general guide you should allow several months from the initial consultation through to installation. The design stage takes time to do properly, and manufacturing follows once every detail is confirmed and measured. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home, look at the space properly, and have a straightforward conversation about how you use it and what you want from it. There is no obligation and no sales pitch. It is a practical starting point, we need to see the room to understand what the design needs to do.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

There is a wide range, and it depends on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances included, and how much storage and detailing the design involves. What we can say honestly is that a fully bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft is a significant investment, comparable to other major work you might carry out on a home at this level. The reason costs vary so much is that every kitchen is genuinely different. When we understand your project, we can give you a clear picture of what it will involve financially, without overcomplicating it.

Can you work with unusual rooms or awkward layouts?

Yes, and it is where a bespoke approach makes the most difference. Alcoves, chimney breasts, uneven walls, low or sloping ceilings, these are all resolved at the design stage, before anything is manufactured. If your room has constraints that have made you wonder whether a proper kitchen is even achievable, that is exactly the kind of project we are set up to handle.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, an extension, a full ground-floor remodel, or a major renovation, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful. We can work closely with your architect or builder, and because we control the design and manufacturing ourselves, we can adapt as the project develops without losing accuracy or adding unnecessary complexity. It is much simpler than coordinating a kitchen supplier separately from everything else.

What styles of kitchen do you design?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, we are not tied to a fixed set of door styles or finishes. The design is shaped by your home, your taste, and the way you use your kitchen. Whether that points toward something more traditional, appropriate for a Georgian or Victorian property, or something cleaner and more contemporary, we work from your brief, not from a range of options presented in a brochure.

How is the cabinetry made, and where?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built as a rigid, fully assembled unit before it leaves, not flat-pack components that are put together on site. This produces more accurate results and a more consistent finish. Everything is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured before production begins.

Who installs the kitchen, and are they part of the same team?

The installation is carried out by our own team, not subcontracted to a separate company. The people fitting your kitchen understand how it was designed and built. That matters in practice, especially if your room has specific features that need careful handling on site.

Will the kitchen be designed to work for how we actually use the space?

That is the starting point of every design conversation. How you cook, how many people are usually in the kitchen, whether you need it to work as a family space as well as a functional room, all of that shapes the layout and storage before any visual decisions are made. A kitchen that looks right but does not work for you is not a good kitchen.

Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want before getting in touch?

No. Many people come to us with very little decided beyond knowing their current kitchen is not working. That is a perfectly good starting point. The design process is there to help you work out what you want and what will actually suit your home. You do not need to arrive with a brief.

How do you handle appliances and worktops?

Both are part of the design from the beginning. We work with you to specify appliances and worktops that suit the kitchen as a whole, not added afterwards as a separate exercise. Because we are designing and manufacturing the cabinetry ourselves, everything is built around what is going in, rather than adapted to fit it later.

We live in a period property in Windsor. Will a bespoke kitchen work with the original character of the house?

It is one of the reasons a fully bespoke approach suits period homes so well. The proportions, the original features, the way the rooms connect, all of that informs the design from the start. Your kitchen is drawn for that specific space, which means it can sit within the architecture rather than looking like something that was brought in from outside and dropped in. We have worked in Georgian townhouses, Victorian detacheds, and other period properties throughout the area, and the starting point is always the building itself.
