Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Seascale Home

Whether you live in a coastal cottage or a family home in the village, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, not adapted from something built for a different house.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room itself. How the light comes in, how you move through the space, how it connects to the rest of the house. Those things come first. Layout and proportions follow from them. Decisions about style, finish and detail come after that. Getting the sequence right is what makes the difference between a kitchen that works and one that looks right in a brochure.

Seascale homes cover a range of building types. A stone cottage has different proportions to a coastal family home or a village property that has grown over time. Each one sets a different starting point. Your kitchen is designed to sit within the architecture of your specific home, responding to what is already there rather than being laid over it.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot be moved: these are resolved at the design stage, not on installation day. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has been properly accounted for. The kitchen is drawn and made to fit your room as it actually is, not as a standard room plan would have it.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be made, and that connection runs through every stage of your project.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything assembled in your home from a kit. That matters in a kitchen that is meant to last.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you never look at are built the same way as the ones you see every morning. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, standard catalogue sizes do not apply. If your room needs an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or something specific to your space, we design and build it exactly as required. There is no off-the-shelf solution being modified to fit. Everything is made for your room.

Your Kitchen Project in Seascale, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps where responsibility falls between people. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it all the way through.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time. Everyone involved has been part of the process from the beginning.

Seascale properties each come with their own starting point. A rural cottage brings one set of proportions and constraints. A coastal family home brings another. A village property that has been extended or altered over the years brings something else again. Your project is worked out on its own terms, not squeezed into a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage. The installation runs smoothly because the preparation was done properly beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you design kitchens for older or period properties in Seascale?

Yes. Older properties, stone cottages and period village homes often come with features that make a standard kitchen difficult to fit well. Low ceilings, irregular walls, alcoves, exposed beams: these are things we design around properly at the start, not problems we try to work around on installation day. If your home has unusual features, they become part of the brief.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home and look at the space properly. We talk through how you use your kitchen, what you want it to do, and what is not working about the current layout. We take note of anything specific to your room, the light, the proportions, the features that need to be worked with. It is a practical conversation, not a presentation, and there is no obligation at the end of it.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It varies significantly depending on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances you want to include, and the level of storage detail involved. A smaller, straightforward kitchen will cost less than a large open-plan space with a full range of fitted storage and high-specification worktops. Rather than give a figure that may not apply to your situation, the most useful thing is to have a conversation about your specific project. What we can say is that a Mastercraft kitchen is a long-term investment in your home, and the cost reflects that.

How long does the whole process take, from first conversation to installation?

It depends on the complexity of your project, but most kitchens move through design, manufacturing and installation over a period of several months. We will give you a clear picture of timescales once we have seen your room and understood what is involved. Nothing is rushed, and we will not commit to a timeline we cannot deliver.

What kitchen styles are available?

We work across a wide range of styles. Shaker kitchens are a natural fit for many Cumbrian properties, but we also design in-frame, handleless, and painted or stained timber styles depending on your home and your preferences. Because everything is made to order, you are not limited to what a catalogue offers. The style is chosen to suit your home, not the other way around.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful when your kitchen is part of a wider building project. If the room is changing shape, if a wall is coming out, or if the space is being extended, we can work alongside your architect or builder from the beginning. Because we make the kitchen ourselves, we can adjust plans and dimensions as the build progresses without having to go back to a third-party manufacturer. It keeps things much more straightforward when the project around the kitchen is still moving.

Can you handle kitchens with difficult or unusual layouts?

That is often where bespoke design makes the most difference. If your room is not a standard rectangle, if there are structural features that limit where things can go, or if the space is awkward in some way, a kitchen designed specifically for it will always perform better than one adapted from a standard range. We work out the layout from your room, not from a template.

How is the cabinetry made, and where?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, so what arrives at your home is a finished piece of cabinetry, not components to be put together on site. That produces a tighter, more consistent result and means installation runs properly rather than relying on on-site assembly to make everything work.

Who installs the kitchen, and are they part of the same team?

Yes. The installation team is part of Mastercraft. They are not a separate contractor brought in at the end. Because they are part of the same process, they understand the design and how the kitchen was made. That makes a practical difference on site, particularly if your room has specific features that need careful handling during installation.

Do I need to have an architect or designer in place before I contact you?

No. If you are working with an architect or builder already, we are happy to work alongside them. But if you are simply thinking about a new kitchen and have not started any wider project, that is fine too. We can begin with just a conversation about your kitchen and work out what is needed from there.

What areas do you cover near Seascale?

We cover Seascale and the surrounding area across west Cumbria. As part of our wider Cumbria coverage, we also work in Whitehaven, Egremont, Millom, and the villages and rural properties in between. If you are not sure whether we cover your location, just get in touch and we can confirm.

What worktop materials do you offer?

We work with a range of worktop materials including stone, engineered stone, timber, and solid surface options. The right choice depends on how you use your kitchen, the style of cabinetry you have chosen, and the feel you want the room to have. We will talk through the options with you at the design stage so you can make an informed decision rather than choosing from a sample book without context.
