Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Risca Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not pulled from a standard range and adjusted to fit, but planned from the room itself, so everything works as it should once it is in place. From the first conversation to the day it is installed, the same team carries it through.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Risca, the starting point is always the room itself. Its dimensions, its quirks, the way it connects to the rest of the house. Everything else follows from that.

Homes in Risca vary more than most people expect. A Victorian terrace behaves very differently to a valley home or a newer family house built in the last twenty years. That is why your kitchen is designed from scratch for your space, not adapted from something created for a different kind of home entirely.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for. Nothing is left to be figured out later.

The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made. So when it arrives, it already fits how the room has been planned. One team holds the whole thing, from the first sketch to the finished installation.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet arrives rigid and factory assembled, not as flat-pack components to be put together on site. That process produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it is what your kitchen will be built on for years to come.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you do not see are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made by the same people who design it, there are no standard sizes to work around and no catalogue configurations to stay within. If your room needs an unusual width, a run beneath a sloping ceiling, or a layout specific to your space, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your room sets the brief, and the cabinetry follows it.

One Team, from Design to Installation

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward properly because the same people are responsible for all of it.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity matters in practice, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time. It has all been worked through long before installation begins.

Risca has a wide mix of housing. A valley terrace brings different starting conditions to a modern family house on a newer development, and a home with a recent extension has its own set of considerations. Your project is approached on its own terms, not pushed into a process designed for a different kind of house. How we work reflects that from the very beginning.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage, because by that point, they already have been.

Why People in Risca Choose Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start, and carried through without compromise. Your kitchen is designed from scratch for your home, not adapted from a standard range. It is made in our own UK workshop, by the same team who designed it, so nothing is lost between the drawing and the finished cabinet. The design begins with your room, and that understanding runs through every decision, from the first conversation to the final fitting. One team, one process, no gaps.

The same team designs, makes and installs your kitchen, so nothing is handed off or lost along the way.

Every kitchen is designed from scratch for your home, not configured from a catalogue or adjusted from a standard range.

Your cabinetry is made in our own UK workshop, factory assembled before it reaches your home.

Every part of your kitchen is built to the same standard, including the parts you will not see every day.

The design begins with your room. Its shape, its dimensions, its particular character. That is always where it starts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get a new kitchen from Mastercraft?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design consultation through to completed installation. The design stage usually takes four to six weeks, depending on how many revisions are involved and how quickly decisions are finalised. Manufacturing runs for around eight to ten weeks once everything is confirmed. If your project involves building work or other trades, that can affect the overall programme, but we will walk you through the expected timescale once we have seen your room.

What happens at the first consultation?

We come to your home in Risca and spend time in the room with you. We look at how the space is currently laid out, talk through what is not working, and get a proper sense of what you need the kitchen to do. There is no presentation, no slideshow. It is a straightforward conversation in your home, and it gives us what we need to start thinking about the design properly.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It varies quite a bit, and that is not a way of avoiding the question. The honest answer is that a fitted kitchen from Mastercraft is a significant investment, and the right number depends on your room, your chosen materials, the appliances you want, and how much storage and internal detail is involved. A smaller, well-specified kitchen and a large open-plan room with high-end worktops and full-height cabinetry will sit at very different points. What we can tell you is that the cost reflects a kitchen designed specifically for your home, built in our own workshop, and installed by the same team that designed it. That is a different thing to buying from a showroom range. Once we have seen your room and understood what you are looking for, we can be straightforward with you about the numbers.

Can you design a kitchen for a room with awkward features, like a chimney breast, low ceilings or an unusual shape?

Yes, and this is where a properly bespoke approach makes the most difference. Unusual rooms are resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. Whether it is a chimney breast that breaks up a run of cabinetry, a ceiling that drops at one end, or a doorway in an inconvenient place, the design accounts for all of it before anything is made. Homes in Risca often have exactly these kinds of features, and they are never a problem when the design starts from the room itself.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, there is no set range to choose from. That said, most kitchens fall into a few broad directions: shaker, in-frame, handleless, or painted bespoke. The style that works best tends to come from the character of your home and how you use the space, rather than a trend. We talk through that as part of the design process, and the choices are led by your home, not by what happens to be in a showroom.

How is the kitchen actually made?

Your cabinetry is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built to the exact dimensions of your room and arrives factory assembled, not as flat-pack components. That means tighter construction, a more consistent finish, and no assembly happening in your home where tolerances are harder to control. The same workshop produces all of the cabinetry, so the standard is consistent throughout.

Do you manage the full installation, or do I need to organise other trades?

Mastercraft handles the full installation of your kitchen. If your project involves broader building work, such as moving walls, extending into a utility room, or new flooring, we can talk through how those elements fit into the programme. For the kitchen itself, everything is covered: the cabinetry, worktops, and fitting. You do not need to be coordinating separate contractors for the kitchen installation.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful when a kitchen is part of a bigger project. If you are extending your home or remodelling the ground floor, the kitchen design needs to respond to a space that is still being built. Because the same team handles design and manufacturing, we can work closely with your builder, accommodate changes as the build progresses, and make sure the final kitchen fits the room as it actually turns out, not just as it was drawn on the architect's plans. It is a more joined-up way of handling it.

Will someone visit my home before any design work begins?

Yes. The design starts with the room, and that means seeing it in person. We visit your home in Risca before any design work is done, so we can understand the space properly, take accurate measurements, and talk through how you use the room. A design that has not started from the physical space is guesswork. We do not work that way.

How accurate are the measurements, and what if something changes before installation?

We carry out a precise measured survey before manufacturing begins. If anything changes between the survey and installation, for instance if building work shifts a wall slightly, we deal with it at the design stage rather than on site. That is one of the practical advantages of having the design and manufacturing handled by the same team. Adjustments can be made properly, not improvised during fitting.

What areas do you cover near Risca?

We work across Risca and the surrounding area, including Abercarn, Newbridge, Ystrad Mynach, and the wider Caerphilly area. If you are not sure whether we cover your location, just get in touch and we will confirm it quickly.

How do I get the process started?

The first step is a conversation in your home. You arrange a design consultation, we come to you, look at the room, and talk through what you are planning and what needs to work. There is nothing to prepare in advance. Most people find that an hour in the kitchen answers a lot of questions about what is possible and gives them a clear sense of how the project would run.
