Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Peterlee Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as it goes, but planned from the room itself, so everything works as it should once it is in place. The same team handles design, manufacturing and installation, so nothing gets lost between stages.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Peterlee, the starting point is always the room itself. The layout, the proportions, the way light moves through the space. Everything the design needs to respond to is already there before a single line is drawn.

Homes in Peterlee vary more than most people expect. A converted farmhouse behaves very differently to a Victorian terrace, and a modern family home brings a completely different set of starting conditions to a Georgian townhouse. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not pulled from a standard range and adjusted to fit a space it was never made for.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around later. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for. There are no surprises waiting on installation day.

One team takes your kitchen from design through to installation. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be built, so when it arrives on site, it already fits the room as planned. Nothing is left to figure out later.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it means the cabinetry arrives ready to fit your room, not your room adjusted to fit the cabinetry. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what that means in practice.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you do not see are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, there are no constraints around standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room calls for an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or something specific to your layout, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your space sets the brief. Nothing about your room is treated as an obstacle.

One Team, from Design Through to Installation

From your first conversation to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because the same people hold it throughout.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. How we work is built around that principle. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.

Peterlee has a genuine mix of homes. A converted farmhouse, a Victorian terrace, a newer build on the edge of town: each brings its own starting point. Your project is treated on its own terms, worked out from your room and your layout, not adjusted to fit a programme that was drawn up for a different kind of house altogether.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage, because those things have already been resolved. The installation is straightforward because the groundwork has already been done.

Different ways your kitchen can be approached

We Work Across Peterlee and the Surrounding Area

From older properties closer to the coast at Seaham to modern family homes throughout Peterlee and out towards Sedgefield, every project begins in the same place: your room, your layout, your home. The property type changes. The approach does not. We also cover Crook and the wider County Durham area as part of our North East coverage.

Your Home in Peterlee. Your Kitchen.

Whether you are remodelling an existing kitchen or starting from scratch, the process begins the same way: with your room and what it needs to do. The design is built around that, not around what is available in a catalogue. Your kitchen is then made in our own workshop and installed by the same team who designed and built it. Everything has been understood from the start and carried through by the same people. That is what makes the difference when it is finally in place.

Why People in Peterlee Choose Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start and carried through without compromise. It is made in our own UK workshop, by the same team who designed it, and installed by people who already know every detail of the project before they arrive. There is no showroom model being applied to your space. There is just your room, understood properly, and a kitchen built specifically for it.

Design, manufacturing and installation are handled by one team, so nothing is lost between stages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at the initial design consultation?

We come to your home, look at the room properly and talk through how you use it and what you want from the new kitchen. It is not a sales visit. It is a chance for us to understand your space and for you to ask questions. From there, we start the design process with a proper understanding of your room.

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial consultation through to installation, depending on how involved the project is. A more complex design with unusual dimensions or a wider renovation will sit towards the longer end of that. We will give you a clearer timeline once we have seen your room and understood the scope properly.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It depends on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the level of storage detail, and the appliances involved. A bespoke kitchen is a significant investment, and the range is wide because no two projects are the same. What we can say is that everything you are paying for is specific to your home: designed for your room, built for your room, and installed by the people who made it. The best way to get an honest sense of what your project would involve is to have a conversation with us once we have seen the space.

Can you design a kitchen for a room with unusual dimensions or awkward features?

Yes, and this is where designing from scratch makes the most practical difference. If your room has a chimney breast, an alcove, a sloping ceiling or an irregular layout, those things are worked into the design from the beginning, not treated as problems to work around later. Because we make your kitchen ourselves, there are no standard sizes limiting what is possible.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. Having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly valuable when a kitchen is part of a wider building project. If your room is being extended or reconfigured, we can work alongside your builder from an early stage, so the kitchen design informs the construction rather than being fitted in afterwards. Everything is co-ordinated properly from the start, which avoids the kind of costly adjustments that happen when a kitchen is specified too late in a build.

What kitchen styles and finishes are available?

Because your kitchen is designed and made for your home specifically, you are not choosing from a fixed range of configurations. In terms of style, we work across a wide range of designs and finishes, from classic shaker and in-frame cabinetry through to contemporary handleless styles. The right direction comes out of the design conversation, shaped by your home and what suits the space.

How is the cabinetry made and what makes it different from a retail kitchen?

Every cabinet is built in our own UK workshop and arrives factory assembled, not as flat-pack components to be put together on site. The construction is rigid and built to the exact dimensions of your room. The tolerances are tighter, the finish is more consistent, and the whole kitchen is specified as a single piece of work rather than a selection of products fitted together. That is what makes the practical difference over time.

Who handles the installation?

The installation is carried out by our own team. They know the design in detail before they arrive because it is the same team that has been involved throughout. Nothing is being worked out on site. The cabinetry arrives made to fit, and the installation follows the plan that was drawn up from your room from the very beginning.

Do I need to manage the project myself or coordinate other tradespeople?

No. The whole project is handled by Mastercraft. You are not left organising separate contractors or chasing different stages of work. One team is responsible from design through to the day the kitchen is handed over. If there is associated trade work involved, such as plumbing or electrical, we coordinate that within the project so you are not managing it separately.

Can you work with the architect or builder already involved in my project?

Yes. We work alongside architects, builders and project managers regularly. If your kitchen is part of a wider build or refurbishment, we can feed into the plans from an early stage and make sure the kitchen design and the construction work are properly aligned. That kind of early involvement usually saves time and avoids problems later.

Do you only work in Peterlee or do you cover the wider area?

We work across Peterlee and the wider County Durham and North East area, including nearby towns such as Seaham, Sedgefield and Crook. If you are not certain whether we cover your area, just get in touch and we will tell you straightforwardly.

What is the first step if I want to get the process started?

Arrange a design consultation. We come to your home, look at the room, and have a straightforward conversation about what you are hoping to do. That is where the design process begins, with your room, properly understood.
