Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Norwich Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as things progress, but planned from the room itself so everything works as it should once it is in place. The same team handles design, manufacturing and installation, so nothing gets lost between stages.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Norwich, the starting point is always the room itself. Its proportions, its quirks, the way light moves through it. That is what everything else follows from.

Homes in Norwich vary more than most people expect. A period farmhouse on the edge of the city behaves very differently to a Georgian townhouse near the cathedral, or a converted barn out toward the Norfolk Broads. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not adjusted from something that was drawn up for a different kind of home.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for.

Design and making sit with the same team throughout. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be built, so when it arrives, it fits the room as it was planned from the beginning.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made specifically for your home in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything built in your home from a kit. That precision carries through to how your kitchen looks and holds up every day.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you notice first. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you rarely see are built to the same standard as the ones you use every day, and that is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of use.

Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, there are no standard sizes to work around. If your room needs an unusual cabinet width, a run that follows a sloping ceiling, or a configuration specific to your layout, it is designed and built exactly as required. You can explore kitchen styles and finishes as part of that process, knowing everything will be made to fit your space.

One Team, from Design to Installation in Norwich

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps in responsibility.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time. How we work is built around that principle from the start.

Period farmhouses, Georgian townhouses, converted barns: each brings its own starting point. Ceiling heights, structural walls, original features that need to be worked with rather than ignored. Your project is treated on its own terms, designed specifically for your home rather than fitted into a programme drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage, because those things were resolved before manufacturing started.

Why People in Norwich Choose Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start, and carried through without compromise. Your kitchen is designed from scratch for your home, not taken from a catalogue and adjusted. It is made in our own UK workshop, built to the exact dimensions of your room. Design, manufacturing and installation sit with one team throughout, so nothing gets misread between stages and no one arrives on site working things out as they go. The thinking that went into the design is the same thinking that goes into the build, and the build is the same standard throughout, the parts you see and the parts you do not.

Design, manufacturing and installation are handled by the same team, so nothing is lost between stages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take, from first conversation to a finished kitchen?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from design to installation, depending on how involved the project is. A straightforward kitchen in a room without unusual structural features will move faster than one in a converted barn with bespoke requirements at every stage. We will give you a clear timeline once we have seen the room and understood the scope.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home and look at the room properly. That means understanding the dimensions, the natural light, where the services are, what works about the current layout and what does not. We talk through how you use the kitchen and what you want from a new one. Nothing is pitched at you. It is a conversation that gives us what we need to begin designing.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

Bespoke kitchens vary considerably, because every project is different. Room size, materials, worktop choice, appliances, the level of storage detail inside the cabinetry: all of these affect the final figure. As a starting point, most projects at this level begin from around fifteen to twenty thousand pounds and can go well beyond that for larger or more complex rooms. The best way to get a realistic sense of cost for your home is to have a conversation once we have seen the space. That way the numbers mean something specific to your project.

My kitchen has an unusual shape, with a sloping ceiling and an alcove. Can you design around that?

Yes, and that kind of room is exactly where a bespoke approach makes the most difference. Sloping ceilings, deep alcoves, chimney breasts, structural walls that cannot move: these are all resolved at the design stage, before anything is made. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has been accounted for. Nothing is worked around on site.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. Having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly valuable when a kitchen is part of a wider building project. If your kitchen is being designed alongside a new extension or a significant remodel, we can work alongside your architect or builder and design to the space as it will be, rather than as it currently is. Because we make everything ourselves, we are not constrained by standard sizes or lead times from third-party suppliers, which gives the wider project more flexibility.

What styles of kitchen are available?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, the style follows your home and your preferences rather than a fixed range. In Norwich, we see a lot of demand for in-frame cabinetry in period properties, which suits the character of older homes well, as well as shaker and handleless designs in more contemporary spaces or newer extensions. The style conversation happens as part of the design process, informed by the room itself.

Are your kitchens made in the UK?

Yes. Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is fully assembled there before it is delivered to your home. It is not flat-pack components that are put together on site. The cabinetry arrives built, and installation is about fitting it precisely into the room that it was designed for.

Who manages the installation, and will I be dealing with different people at different stages?

The same team carries the project from design through to installation. You are not passed between departments or handed to a separate fitting contractor. The people who understand your project are involved throughout, which means no one arrives on site needing to interpret plans they have not seen before.

How accurate are the measurements, and what if something does not fit on installation day?

Your room is measured precisely before anything is manufactured, and every dimension is resolved at the design stage. By the time installation begins, the cabinetry has been made to fit the room as it was surveyed. Significant surprises on installation day are rare because the work has been done properly beforehand. If anything minor needs to be addressed, it is handled by the same team who designed and built the kitchen.

Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want before getting in touch?

No. Most people come to us with a general sense of what is not working about their current kitchen, rather than a finished brief. The design consultation is where that thinking develops. You do not need mood boards or a fixed style in mind. Knowing roughly how you use the space is more useful at that stage than knowing which door profile you want.

Do you supply appliances as well as cabinetry?

We can advise on appliances and specify them as part of the overall design, making sure everything integrates properly with the cabinetry rather than being added afterwards. If you have appliances in mind already, we design around those. If you want guidance, we can recommend options that suit the kitchen and the way you cook.

We are in a village outside Norwich. Do you still cover our area?

Yes. We work across Norwich and the surrounding area, including villages and rural properties throughout Norfolk. Converted barns and period farmhouses further from the city are projects we are very familiar with. If you are unsure whether your location is within our area, just get in touch and we can confirm.
