Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Mexborough Home

If you are thinking about a new kitchen in Mexborough, the starting point is your home, your room, and how you actually use it.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room. How the light comes in, how you move through the space, how it connects to the rest of the house. Layout and proportions are worked out first. The visual decisions, doors, finishes, materials, follow from that. Getting the order right is what makes the difference between a kitchen that works and one that just looks good in a photograph.

Mexborough has a good range of property types. Victorian terraces along the older streets, inter-war semis, larger family homes. Each brings its own proportions and its own set of constraints. A terrace kitchen sits differently to a semi-detached rear extension. Your kitchen is designed to work within your specific architecture, not adapted from something drawn up for a different kind of house entirely.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, walls that cannot move, ceilings that slope: these are resolved properly at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is accounted for. Nothing is left to be figured out on installation day, and nothing is quietly worked around by the team fitting it.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made and fitted, because they are part of the same practice from start to finish.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves the workshop, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. It also means that when your cabinetry arrives, it is ready to install, not ready to be constructed.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the doors and surfaces you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level. The parts you rarely look at are built to the same quality as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen performs over the years, not just how it looks on day one. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what goes into it.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room needs an unusual run width, cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or something specific to how your space sits, we design and build exactly that. There is no standard size we are trying to make your room fit around.

Your Mexborough Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress between contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because the same team holds it throughout.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity matters practically, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out what to do with them.

Mexborough homes come with their own starting points. A Victorian terrace kitchen is a different proposition to an inter-war semi or a larger family home with a rear extension. Your project is treated on its own terms. The programme is built around your house, not adjusted to fit a standard process drawn up for a different kind of property.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, taken from a precise site measure before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage. It either fits or it was not designed properly.

Begin Your Kitchen Design

If you are thinking about a new kitchen in Mexborough, the best place to start is a conversation. There is no pressure and no obligation. We talk about your home, your space, and what you are hoping to achieve, and go from there at whatever pace suits you.

A design consultation is a practical visit to your home. We look at the room properly, talk through how you use the space, and begin to understand what your kitchen needs to do. It is not a sales presentation. It is the first step in designing something that works for your specific home.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the process start if I get in touch?

It starts with a conversation, usually a call or an email exchange to get a basic sense of your project. From there, we arrange a visit to your home to look at the space properly. That first visit is where the design process really begins. We look at the room, talk through how you use it, and start thinking about what your kitchen needs to do.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It varies considerably, and being honest about that is more useful than quoting a number that may not reflect your project. The main factors are the size of the room, the materials you choose for doors and worktops, the appliances you want to include, and the level of storage detail inside the cabinetry. A well-specified bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft is a serious investment in your home, and the right way to think about it is as something built to last for a very long time. The best thing to do is talk to us about your specific project, and we can give you a much more honest picture of what it is likely to involve.

How long does the whole project take from first conversation to installation?

It depends on the complexity of your kitchen and our current programme, but as a general guide you should allow several months from first conversation to installation. Design and survey take time to do properly, and manufacturing is not rushed. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project, and we keep you informed throughout.

Can you work with difficult rooms, alcoves, sloping ceilings, chimney breasts?

Yes, and these are the kinds of challenges that a bespoke approach handles well. Because everything is designed and manufactured specifically for your room, awkward features are resolved at the design stage rather than worked around during fitting. If your room has a chimney breast, a sloping ceiling, or walls that are not square, we design around them from the start.

What styles of kitchen do you design and make?

We design across a wide range of styles. If you prefer a traditional look, shaker kitchens are one of our most popular choices, particularly in older properties where the style suits the architecture well. We also design contemporary handleless kitchens and more classic in-frame kitchens. The starting point is always your home and what suits the space, not what happens to be trending.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful when your kitchen is part of a wider building project. If you are extending your home or remodelling a significant part of it, we can work alongside your architect or builder from an early stage. Because we design and make the cabinetry ourselves, we can accommodate changes to the build as it develops, rather than being locked into dimensions agreed months earlier from a catalogue.

Who measures the room and when does that happen?

We carry out a precise site measure before anything goes into production. This happens after the design has been agreed in principle, so that every cabinet is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room. It is one of the steps that ensures everything fits properly when installation begins.

Is the kitchen installed by Mastercraft or subcontracted to other tradespeople?

Installation is carried out by our own team. We do not hand your project over to a separate installation contractor once manufacturing is complete. The people fitting your kitchen understand how it was designed and built, which makes a practical difference, particularly in rooms with specific features or constraints.

What happens if something needs adjusting after the kitchen is installed?

Because we design, make and install everything ourselves, there is one point of contact if anything needs attention after installation. You are not trying to work out whether a problem sits with the manufacturer, the installer or someone else. We stand behind the whole project.

Can I choose my own appliances, or do you supply them?

We can supply appliances as part of your project, and we can also work with appliances you have chosen independently. Either way, the cabinetry is designed around the specific appliances going into your kitchen, with the right housings, cutouts and ventilation designed in from the start rather than adapted later.

My kitchen is in a Victorian terrace. Is that the kind of house you work with regularly?

Yes. Victorian terraces are one of the most common property types we work with across South Yorkshire. They tend to have narrower rear kitchens, original features worth working with, and rooms that benefit from careful planning to make the most of the available space. The design process starts with what your room actually is, so the character of an older property is something we work with, not something we try to design around.

Do I need to visit a showroom?

No. We come to you. The most useful thing we can do early in the process is look at your actual room, in your home, with you there to talk through how you use it. That said, if you would like to see materials, finishes and cabinetry in person at some point during the project, we can arrange that too. You can also take a look at our kitchen styles and finishes online to start forming a picture before we meet.
