Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Grantham Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in Grantham, this is where it starts: with your home, your room, and the way you actually use it.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well begins before any style decisions are made. It starts with how the room sits in your home. Where the light comes from. How you move through the space. How it connects to the rest of the house. Layout and proportions are worked out first. Everything else follows from that.

Grantham has a strong stock of Georgian market town houses, substantial period properties, and large family detached homes. Each brings its own proportions. High ceilings, original joinery, rooms that have been added to over the years. The architecture sets the starting point. Your kitchen is designed to sit within it, not applied over the top of it.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, walls that cannot move, ceiling heights that change across the room: these are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is accounted for. Nothing is left to be worked around on the day installation begins. The room is understood properly before anything is built.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be made and how it will come together in your room.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves. This is not flat-pack construction put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and the result is cabinetry that fits and performs the way a kitchen built to this standard should.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts that catch your eye. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. The components you do not see every day matter just as much as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up after years of daily use.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, standard sizes and catalogue configurations do not apply. If your room needs an unusual run width, cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or something specific to your space, we design and build exactly that. There is no adapting a standard product to make it fit.

Your Grantham Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress updates. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps where things can fall between responsibilities. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it throughout.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out how to interpret them.

Grantham’s Georgian townhouses, older period properties, and larger detached family homes each bring a different starting point. High ceilings, original features, rooms that have changed over time: your project is treated on its own terms. It is not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house in a different kind of town.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments made to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage. The way we work is built around getting that right from the beginning.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from first conversation to completion?

It varies depending on the size and complexity of your kitchen, but as a general guide you should allow several months from initial design consultation through to installation. The design stage takes time to do properly, manufacturing follows once everything is confirmed, and installation is typically completed over a number of days. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home and look at the space properly. We talk through how you use your kitchen, what works and what does not, and what you want from the new one. We take measurements and get a real understanding of the room before anything is drawn. It is a practical conversation, not a presentation.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

Bespoke kitchens vary considerably depending on the size of the room, the materials chosen, the appliances specified, and the level of storage detail involved. Rather than quoting figures that may not reflect your project, we prefer to talk through your plans and give you a clear picture once we understand what you need. What we can say is that a Mastercraft kitchen is a long-term investment in your home, designed and built to last. Most projects sit comfortably within the range you would expect for a fully bespoke, UK-manufactured kitchen.

Can you work with the original features in my period Grantham property?

Yes. Older homes in Grantham often have original cornicing, chimney breasts, alcoves, and walls that cannot be moved. These are things we design around from the start, not problems to solve on installation day. Your cabinetry is built to the exact dimensions of the room, so the finished kitchen sits properly within the original architecture.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful in those situations. When a kitchen is part of a wider building project, things change: the room dimensions, the layout, the structural elements. Because we design and build your kitchen ourselves, we can adapt as the project develops without the complications that come from coordinating separate suppliers. We work alongside architects, builders, and project managers regularly.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

We do not work from a fixed style catalogue. That said, we have broad experience across shaker, in-frame, and handleless designs, as well as more individual approaches. The style that works for your kitchen depends on your home, your taste, and the character of the space. We work that out with you during the design process.

Where is my kitchen manufactured?

In our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built specifically for your home and arrives factory assembled, not as flat-pack components to be put together on site. We do not use third-party manufacturers or outsource production. Building it ourselves means we control the quality throughout.

Who carries out the installation?

Our own installation team. The same people who have been involved in the design and manufacturing of your kitchen carry out the installation. They know the project, they know the plans, and they know exactly how everything should go together. You are not handed over to a separate fitting contractor at the end.

How precisely is the kitchen measured before manufacturing begins?

Every dimension is taken from your room before any manufacturing starts. We do not work from rough measurements or standard allowances. Your cabinetry is built to the exact dimensions of your space, which means installation runs smoothly and the finished result fits as it should.

Can you design a kitchen for a room with an unusual shape or layout?

That is exactly what bespoke means in practice. Sloping ceilings, angled walls, columns, unusually narrow runs, split levels: we have dealt with all of these. Every kitchen we design is drawn for a specific room. If your space is unusual, the design accounts for that from the beginning.

Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want before getting in touch?

Not at all. Many people come to us knowing only that they want a better kitchen. Some have detailed ideas already. Either is fine. The consultation is there to help you think it through properly. We ask the right questions and take it from there. You do not need to arrive with a brief prepared.

Do you supply appliances and worktops as part of the project?

Yes. We can source and supply appliances and worktops as part of your kitchen project, which means everything is coordinated properly rather than arriving separately from different suppliers. Worktops are specified as part of the design, not chosen from a standard range afterwards. If you already have appliances in mind, we design around those too.
