TRUSTED BY HOMEOWNERS ACROSS THE REGION
Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Gateshead Home
Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as it goes, but planned from the room itself, so everything works as it should once it is in place. One team handles the whole project, from the first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over.

A bespoke kitchen design for a Gateshead home by Mastercraft Kitchens
Designed Around Your Home
If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Gateshead, the starting point is always the room itself. The shape of the space, how it sits in the house, where the light comes from. That is what the design is built around.
Homes in Gateshead vary more than most people expect. A converted farmhouse on the edge of town behaves very differently to a Georgian townhouse near the centre, or a large detached home in one of the newer residential areas. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not pulled from a range that was drawn up for a different kind of house entirely.
Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for.
The designer who plans your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made. So when it arrives at your home, it already fits the way the room has been planned. One team carries it through.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last
Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. That process produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it shows once everything is in place in your room.
The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. What holds up over years of daily use is often the parts you cannot see.
Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, there are no catalogue constraints. If your room needs an unusual run of cabinetry, a section built beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that does not exist in any standard range, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your space sets the brief, not the other way around.
One Team, from Design to Installation
From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress between contractors.
The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has particular features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.
A converted farmhouse, a Georgian townhouse, a large detached home: each brings its own starting point. Your project is approached on its own terms. The process is not a standard programme adjusted to fit your home. It is built around your home from the beginning.
Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage. Everything has been worked out well before anyone sets foot in your kitchen with a tool.

Why People in Gateshead Choose Mastercraft
A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start, and carried through without compromise. Every kitchen is designed from scratch for the specific room it is going into, not adapted from something that already exists. It is made in our own UK workshop by the same team that designed it, and installed by people who already know exactly what has been planned and why. There is no point in the project where your kitchen passes between separate organisations. One team holds it from first conversation to final fitting, and the kitchen that arrives in your home is the one that was designed for it.
The same team designs, builds and installs your kitchen, so nothing is lost between one stage and the next.
Every kitchen is designed from scratch for your room, with no standard range to adapt or work around.
Your cabinetry is made in our own UK workshop, built to the exact dimensions of your home.
The materials and components are specified for long-term use, not just for how the kitchen looks on day one.
The design always starts with your room, your space, your home, nothing else.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the whole process take, from first conversation to a finished kitchen?
Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design consultation through to the end of installation. Larger or more involved projects, particularly those involving structural changes or wider renovation work, can take a little longer. You will know the programme before anything is committed.
What happens at the first consultation?
We come to your home. We look at the room together, talk through how you use the space and what is not working at the moment. There is no presentation and nothing to sit through. It is a straightforward conversation about your kitchen and what it needs to do.
Can you work with rooms that have unusual features, like low ceilings, alcoves or awkward layouts?
Yes, and those rooms are often where the design work is most worthwhile. Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, non-standard wall angles: these are resolved at the design stage, not treated as problems to work around on installation day. Because your kitchen is made to the exact dimensions of your room, the unusual parts of it are accounted for before anything is built.
What styles of kitchen do you offer?
Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, there is no fixed range to choose from. The style is led by your home and what suits it. That might be a classic shaker kitchen, something more contemporary like a handleless design, or a more traditional in-frame kitchen that suits an older property. The design conversation will help establish what fits your home properly.
How does the manufacturing process work?
Once the design is finalised and all dimensions confirmed, your kitchen is built in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, so what arrives at your home is a finished, tested product, not a collection of flat-pack components to be put together on site. That is a meaningful difference in terms of the fit and finish once it is in place.
What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?
It depends on the size of the room, the materials chosen, the appliances included and the level of storage detail in the design. A bespoke kitchen is a considered investment, and the range is genuinely wide because no two projects are the same. What we can tell you is that the design consultation will give you a clear picture of what your specific kitchen is likely to cost, based on your room and your priorities, before any commitment is made.
Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?
Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful. The kitchen design can be coordinated with structural decisions, drainage, electrical positioning and the build programme, rather than being fitted around choices that have already been locked in. We are used to working alongside architects, builders and project managers when a kitchen is one part of a larger piece of work.
Do I need to have a showroom visit before you start?
No. The process begins in your home, not in a showroom. Seeing the room, understanding how it sits and how you use it, is the only way to design a kitchen properly for it. You are welcome to visit our store if you would like to see materials and finishes in person, but it is not a requirement to get started.
Who handles the installation?
Installation is carried out by our own team, not subcontracted to a third party. The people installing your kitchen already know the design, because they are part of the same organisation that designed and built it. Nothing is being worked out on site. It has all been planned and prepared in advance.
How accurate are the measurements before manufacturing begins?
A full measured survey is carried out before anything goes into production. Every dimension is confirmed from your actual room, not from approximate figures taken during the consultation. Manufacturing only begins once those measurements are in and the design has been signed off.
What if my kitchen is part of a new extension and the room is not yet built?
This is more common than you might expect. We can begin the design process while the build is underway and then carry out a precise measured survey once the room reaches the right stage. The kitchen is manufactured once the final dimensions are confirmed, so the timing can be coordinated with your builder to avoid delays at the point of installation.
