Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Cardiff Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as it goes, but planned from the room itself, so everything works as it should once it is in place. One team handles it from the first conversation through to the day the kitchen is handed over.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Cardiff, the starting point is always the room itself. The layout, the light, the way the space connects to the rest of the house. That is what the design is built around.

Homes in Cardiff vary more than most people expect. A Victorian terrace behaves very differently to a period townhouse or a stone farmhouse on the edge of the city. Your kitchen is designed from scratch for your room, not pulled from a catalogue and adjusted to fit a space it was never intended for.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been worked through. Nothing is left to figure out later.

The same team that designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made. That connection runs through the whole project, so when your kitchen arrives, it fits the room as planned from the start.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. That approach produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish across the whole installation.

The same standard runs through everything, not just the doors and worktops you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level. The parts you rarely notice are what determine how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made to order in our own workshop, standard sizes and catalogue configurations do not apply. If your room needs an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that does not exist in any standard kitchen range, it is designed and built exactly as your space requires.

One Team, from Design to Installation

From the first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one process, one team. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward because one team holds it all the way through.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity matters, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.

Cardiff homes each bring their own starting point. A Victorian terrace in Roath has different constraints to a period townhouse in Llandaff or a stone farmhouse beyond the city boundary. Your project is treated on its own terms, not fitted into a standard programme designed with a different kind of house in mind.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to go in. There are no adjustments being made on site to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage. It has all been worked through well before that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design conversation through to the end of installation. That covers the design and approval process, manufacturing in our workshop, and the installation itself. If your project involves building work or a larger renovation, the overall programme will be longer, but the kitchen element typically sits within that window.

What happens at the first consultation?

We come to your home and look at the room properly. We talk through how you use the space, what is and is not working at the moment, and what you want the new kitchen to do. There is no presentation and no pitch. It is a straightforward conversation in your home so we understand the room and the brief before anything else happens.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It depends on the size of the room, the materials you choose, the appliances, and how much storage detail is involved. A straightforward bespoke kitchen in a smaller space will cost considerably less than a large kitchen with extensive cabinetry, a full appliance package and premium worktops. What we can say is that every kitchen is priced against your specific brief, not a catalogue. The investment reflects something made for your home and built to last. We will give you a clear, detailed figure once the design has been worked through.

Can you design around an unusual room, such as one with a chimney breast, alcoves or a sloping ceiling?

Yes, and those kinds of rooms are often the ones where bespoke design makes the biggest practical difference. Because your kitchen is drawn and built specifically for your space, features like chimney breasts, alcoves and irregular ceiling heights are resolved at the design stage. They become part of the layout rather than obstacles to work around.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. When a kitchen is part of a wider building project, having design and manufacturing sitting with one team is particularly useful. Changes to the build programme or the room dimensions can be absorbed at the design stage without the complications that come from managing separate suppliers. We are used to working alongside architects and builders, and we can coordinate the kitchen element so it fits properly into the wider project.

What kitchen styles are available?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, you are not choosing from a fixed set of styles. That said, most projects fall broadly into a few directions: shaker, in-frame, handleless, or something more specific to the character of your home. We talk through what suits the property and what you want the finished kitchen to feel like, then design to that.

How is the kitchen manufactured?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not delivered as flat-pack components. We build to your exact room dimensions, so what arrives on site has been made for your space specifically. That is a different process to anything produced for a standard range.

Who installs the kitchen?

Our own installation team handles it. They know the design, they know how it was built, and they know what the finished result should look like. Because the same people are involved throughout, nothing needs to be explained or handed over. The team arriving on site already understands your project in full.

Do you supply appliances as well as the cabinetry?

Yes. We specify and supply appliances as part of the project. This means the appliance choices are integrated into the design from the start, not added at the end. The housing, the ventilation, the sizing: all of it is resolved together so the finished kitchen works as one considered layout.

What worktop options are available?

Quite a range. Quartz, granite, marble, solid wood, laminate and others. The right choice depends on your kitchen, how you use it, and what suits the overall design. We talk through the options in the context of your specific project and help you make a decision that works practically as well as visually. You can also see more detail about the worktop options on our website.

Do I need to visit a showroom?

No. The process begins in your home, not in a showroom. That is a deliberate choice. A showroom tells you what a kitchen looks like on its own. Your home tells us what the kitchen needs to do. We do have a store where you can see materials and finishes in person if that would be useful, but it is not a required step.

How do I get the process started?

Arrange a design consultation and we will come to your home in Cardiff for an initial conversation. We look at the room, talk through your brief, and take it from there. That first visit is the starting point for everything that follows.
