Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Bassaleg Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not pulled from a standard range and adjusted to fit, but planned from the room itself, so that everything works as it should once it is in place. The same team handles your project from the first conversation through to installation, with no handoffs and no gaps.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Bassaleg, the starting point is always the room itself. Not a brochure, not a showroom layout, but your actual space. That is where every decision begins.

Homes in Bassaleg vary more than most people expect. A stone-built valley house behaves very differently to a Victorian terrace or a modern family home on a newer development. Each one has its own proportions, its own quirks, its own constraints. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not adapted from something that was drawn up for a different kind of home.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings: these things are resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for.

One team takes your kitchen from design through to installation. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be made, so when it arrives, it already fits how the room has been planned. That continuity matters.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not a flat-pack kit put together on site. That approach produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than on-site assembly allows, and you see and feel the difference in the finished result.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. What you cannot see is built to the same standard as what you can. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, there are no catalogue constraints to work around. If your room needs an unusual cabinet width, a run that follows a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that simply does not exist in a standard range, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your space sets the brief, not the other way around.

One Team, from Design to Installation

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward properly because the same people are responsible for all of it.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time. Everything has been understood long before installation begins.

Every home in Bassaleg brings its own starting point. A valley property with thick stone walls and uneven floors needs a different approach to a Victorian terrace with its tall ceilings and chimney breast, or a modern extension where the structure is clean but the proportions are specific. Your project is worked out on its own terms, not fitted into a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage. The work that goes in early is what makes the installation straightforward.

Why People in Bassaleg Choose Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start and carried through without compromise. Every kitchen is designed from scratch around the specific room, not adapted from a catalogue range to approximate the right fit. Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, so the design, the manufacturing and the installation are all held by one team. There is no point in the process where your project is handed over to someone who was not involved from the beginning. That is how a kitchen is made to last, and how you end up with something that works properly for your home, not just something that looks right in a showroom.

The same team handles your kitchen from design through to the day it is installed in your home.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design consultation through to the end of installation. The exact timescale depends on how involved the project is, the size of the kitchen, the complexity of the room and whether there is any building work happening alongside it. We talk through realistic timescales early on so you can plan around it properly.

What happens at the first consultation?

We come to your home and look at the room with you. That means the actual space, the light, how you move through it, what is working and what is not. We talk through how you use the kitchen and what you want it to do differently. Nothing is measured or sold at that stage. It is a proper conversation so we understand your home before anything else happens.

Can you work with an unusual room layout or tricky features like alcoves or sloping ceilings?

Yes, and those kinds of rooms are often where bespoke design makes the biggest difference. Because your kitchen is designed and made specifically for your home, an awkward alcove, a chimney breast or a ceiling that drops at one end is resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. Unusual rooms are part of what we do.

What kitchen styles are available?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, there is no fixed range to choose from. Styles and finishes are selected to suit your home, your taste and how the kitchen will actually be used. In Bassaleg homes we work across everything from traditional shaker designs that suit older properties well, through to cleaner, more contemporary layouts for modern extensions and open-plan spaces. The starting point is always your room, not a catalogue page.

How does the manufacturing process work?

Once the design is finalised and your room has been precisely measured, your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves. That means when it arrives at your home, everything is already built to the exact dimensions of your room. Nothing is assembled on site from flat-pack components.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It is genuinely difficult to give a single figure because the range is wide. A straightforward kitchen in a smaller room with a clean layout sits at a different level to a large open-plan space with extensive storage, premium worktops and integrated appliances throughout. What we can say is that bespoke cabinetry, made and installed by one team, represents a real investment. Most projects fall somewhere between the mid-range and the higher end of the market, and we are happy to talk through what is realistic for your home early in the process, before any design work begins.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and a project where the kitchen is part of a wider build or extension is actually where having design and manufacturing under one roof works particularly well. When the kitchen is being designed at the same time as structural decisions are being made, there is far less room for problems later. We can work alongside your architect or builder, and because we control our own manufacturing, we can accommodate changes to the brief without it causing disruption down the line.

Who installs the kitchen?

Our own installation team. The people fitting your kitchen are part of the same Mastercraft team that designed and made it, so they know exactly what they are working with before they arrive. There is no handoff to a third-party installer who is seeing the plans for the first time on the day.

Do I need to visit a showroom?

We work from your home, not from a showroom. The consultation happens in your kitchen, in the actual room where your new kitchen will go. That is the only way to understand the space properly. If you want to see examples of our work or look at materials and finishes in more detail, we can arrange that at the right point in the process.

How accurate is the measuring and will everything fit properly?

Your room is measured precisely before anything is manufactured. Every cabinet is built to those exact dimensions, so when installation begins, the kitchen fits the room as designed. Problems during installation almost always come from designs that were not resolved properly beforehand. Because that work is done early, it is not something you need to worry about on the day.

Can you help with appliance selection as well?

Yes. Appliances are part of the design conversation from early on, because the appliances affect cabinetry dimensions, ventilation requirements, electrical and plumbing positions and how the overall layout works. Getting that resolved at the design stage means nothing needs to be adjusted later. We can advise on what works well with your kitchen and help you make decisions that fit the space and how you cook.

We are in the early stages of planning. Is it too soon to get in touch?

Not at all. Earlier is usually better, because a proper kitchen design takes time and the earlier the room is understood, the better the decisions that follow. If you are still at the thinking stage, a first conversation costs nothing and gives you something real to work from. Arrange a design consultation and we will take it from there.
