Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Basildon Home
Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as it goes, but planned from the room itself, so everything works as it should once it is in place. From design through to installation, the same team carries it through from start to finish.

A bespoke kitchen design for a Basildon home by Mastercraft Kitchens
Designed Around Your Home
If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Basildon, the starting point is always the room itself. Its layout, its proportions, the way it connects to the rest of the house. That is what the design has to be built around.
Homes in Basildon vary more than most people expect. A converted oast house brings a completely different set of constraints to an executive new build or a period village house. Each one has its own layout, its own quirks. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not adapted from something that was created with a different kind of home in mind.
Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, awkward corners: these are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been accounted for. Nothing is left to work out later.
One team handles design, making and installation. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be built, so when it arrives, it already fits how the room has been planned. That continuity matters from the very beginning.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last
Your kitchen is made specifically for your home in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid-built and fully assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly means tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it means your kitchen arrives ready to install rather than ready to be constructed in your home.
The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you do not see are built to the same standard as the ones you do, and that is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.
Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, we are not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room needs an unusual width, a run that follows a sloping ceiling, or a configuration specific to your space, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your room sets the brief, and the cabinetry is made to follow it.
Handled from Start to Finish
From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward properly because the same people hold it throughout.
The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.
Basildon homes bring a range of starting points. A coastal property, a newer executive build, a period village house, a converted oast: each one has different demands. Your project is handled on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house. The way we work is built around your home, not the other way around.
Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything goes into production. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage, because those things were resolved at the design stage.

Why People in Basildon Choose Mastercraft
A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start, and carried through without compromise. Every kitchen here is designed from scratch around the specific room, not pulled from a range and adjusted to fit. It is built in our own UK workshop by the same team that designed it, so nothing is lost in translation between the plan and what ends up in your home. You deal with one team throughout, from the first conversation to the day the kitchen is complete. There is no showroom model that gets adapted for your house. Your home is where the design starts, and your room is what everything is built around.
The same team designs, builds and installs your kitchen, so nothing is handed off or lost between stages.
Every kitchen is designed from scratch for your room, not selected from a catalogue and modified to fit.
Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, with every cabinet fully assembled before it leaves.
The specification runs through the whole kitchen, so it is built to hold up properly over years of use.
The design begins with your room, your layout and how your home actually works day to day.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?
Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design consultation through to the end of installation. The design and planning stage typically takes four to six weeks, depending on how complex your room is and how many decisions need to be made. Manufacturing usually runs for six to ten weeks after that, and installation itself generally takes one to two weeks depending on the size of the kitchen. Your designer will give you a clear timeline once the project scope is confirmed.
What happens at the first design consultation?
We come to your home. That is where it starts. We look at the room, take note of how the space works, where the light falls, what the layout currently does and does not do well. Then we talk through what you need the kitchen to do, how you use it day to day, and what you want it to feel like. Nothing is sold or pushed at that stage. It is a proper conversation about your home.
Can you design a kitchen for a room with awkward features, like a sloping ceiling or a chimney breast?
Yes, and those are often the projects that benefit most from a fully bespoke approach. A sloping ceiling, a chimney breast, an alcove, an irregular wall: these are all resolved during the design stage, not dealt with on the day of installation. By the time your kitchen goes into production, every dimension has been worked out around those features rather than despite them.
What kitchen styles do you offer?
Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, the style is entirely your choice rather than a selection from a fixed range. Whether you are drawn to a classic shaker design, a clean handleless kitchen, or something more traditional, the door style, finish, colour and detailing are all chosen around your home and your taste. Your designer will help you work through the options in the context of your specific room.
How does the manufacturing process work?
Once the design is finalised and signed off, your kitchen goes into production in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid-built and fully assembled there, not delivered as flat-pack components for assembly on site. This produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. When your kitchen arrives at your home, it is ready to install, not ready to be put together.
What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?
A bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft is a significant investment, and the cost varies considerably depending on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances specified, and the level of storage detail involved. A smaller, well-specified kitchen might begin from around £20,000 to £25,000 fully installed. Larger or more complex projects, or those with high-specification worktops and appliances, will be meaningfully more than that. The most useful thing to do is have a conversation about your specific room and what you need from it, at which point we can give you a much clearer picture.
Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?
Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful when a kitchen is part of a wider building project. If you are extending your home or remodelling a significant part of it, the kitchen design can be developed alongside the building work so that the two inform each other properly. You are not designing a kitchen to fit into a space that has already been finished around separate decisions. We are used to working alongside architects and builders on projects where the kitchen is central to a larger renovation.
Do I need to have an idea of what I want before getting in touch?
No. Most people come to us with a general sense of what they want the kitchen to do and a feeling for the direction they are heading in, but nothing more specific than that. The design conversation is where those ideas get developed properly. If you have images or references you like, bring them. If you do not, that is fine too. The starting point is your room, not a mood board.
Who manages the installation?
Installation is handled by our own team, not subcontracted out. The people fitting your kitchen understand how it was designed and how it was built, so they are not arriving on site to figure things out from a set of plans they have not seen before. Everything has been accounted for before installation begins, which is why the process tends to run smoothly.
Will the kitchen be measured before it goes into production?
Yes. Before manufacturing begins, your room is measured precisely by our team. Those measurements are used to produce the exact dimensions for every cabinet. Nothing is made to approximate sizes and adjusted on site. Your room is measured carefully, and your kitchen is built to those measurements.
Do you work in new build homes as well as older properties?
Yes. New builds and older properties both appear regularly in our work around Basildon and Essex. New builds often have their own constraints, standard ceiling heights, specific structural layouts, or rooms designed without a particular kitchen in mind. Older properties bring different challenges. Either way, the kitchen is designed around the room as it actually is, not as a standard template suggests it should be.
