Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Barnet Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range and not adjusted as things progress, but planned from the room itself so everything works as it should once it is in place. The same team handles design, manufacturing and installation, so nothing gets lost between the people involved.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Barnet, the starting point is always the room itself. The proportions, the light, the way you move through the space. That is what the design is built around, before anything else is decided.

Homes in Barnet vary more than most people expect. A Victorian terrace behaves very differently to a mews house or a modern apartment conversion. Each has its own layout, its own constraints, its own character. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not adapted from something drawn up for a different kind of home.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, awkward corners: these are resolved at the design stage, not on the day of installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been worked out. Nothing is left to figure out later.

The designer who plans your kitchen and the team who builds it are the same people throughout. That connection means when your kitchen arrives, it fits the room exactly as planned. There are no gaps in understanding, because it has been one team from the beginning.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, so what arrives on site is a finished piece of cabinetry, not a kit. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything put together in your home from flat-pack components.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the doors and worktops. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the parts you see every day. The components you rarely look at are what determine how well your kitchen holds up over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, standard sizes and catalogue configurations do not apply. If your room needs a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, an unusual width, or something specific to your layout, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your space sets the brief, and the manufacturing follows from that.

One Team, from Design to Installation

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one process, one team. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward properly because responsibility never changes hands.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.

A modern apartment in Barnet brings different starting conditions to a mews house or a period terrace. The ceiling heights differ, the layouts differ, the way natural light moves through the room differs. Your project is treated on its own terms, designed around your actual space rather than fitted into a programme drawn up for a different kind of home.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to go into place. There are no adjustments being made on site to compensate for things that were not fully resolved at the design stage. That work has already been done.

Why People in Barnet Choose Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is not just about how it looks. It is about whether it has been thought through properly from the start and carried through without compromise. Every kitchen is designed from scratch around the specific room, not pulled from a range and adjusted to fit. It is made in our own UK workshop, built to the exact dimensions of your home, and installed by the same team who designed and made it. There is no showroom model you are buying into, no standard configuration being modified. The design begins with your room, and everything follows from that.

Design, manufacturing and installation are handled by one team, so responsibility never moves between different people.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take from first conversation to finished kitchen?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from the initial design consultation through to completed installation. Projects that involve more complex rooms, extensive storage detail, or specific materials can take a little longer. You will have a clear picture of the timeline before anything is confirmed.

What happens at the first consultation?

We come to your home and look at the room properly. We talk through how you use the space, what is not working at the moment, and what you want from the new kitchen. It is a genuine conversation about your home, not a sales presentation. From that point, we can start to understand what the design needs to do.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It varies considerably, and that is not a deflection. A bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft is genuinely priced around your specific room, your choice of materials, the level of storage detail, and the appliances you select. Smaller, more straightforward projects tend to start from around £20,000 to £25,000 fully installed. Larger kitchens with premium materials, extensive cabinetry and high-specification appliances can be significantly more. The honest answer is that it is an investment decision, and the design consultation will give you a much clearer picture of what is realistic for your home.

Can you design around an awkward or unusual room?

That is exactly where bespoke design matters most. Chimney breasts, alcoves, sloping ceilings, rooms that are not square: all of these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around during installation. The kitchen is built to fit the room as it actually is, not as you might wish it were.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful in that situation. When a kitchen is part of a wider building project, the cabinetry often needs to respond to decisions being made elsewhere on site. Because we design and make your kitchen ourselves, we can adapt as the project develops without the complications that come from coordinating separate suppliers. We work closely with architects and contractors where needed.

What kitchen styles are available?

Because every kitchen is designed from scratch, the style is not fixed by a range. Styles and finishes are chosen around your home and your preferences. Shaker, handleless, in-frame and painted kitchens all work well in Barnet homes depending on the property and what you are trying to achieve. We will talk through what suits your room during the design process.

How is the kitchen actually manufactured?

Every cabinet is made in our own UK workshop and arrives on site already assembled, not as flat-pack components. This produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything put together in your home from a kit. The cabinetry is built to the exact measurements of your room, taken before manufacturing begins.

Who installs the kitchen?

Our own installation team, the same people who have been involved throughout the project. They know what was designed and why, so there are no surprises on site. Everything has been resolved before they arrive, and they are there to fit a kitchen that has already been fully thought through.

Do I need to have a kitchen designer come to my home, or can we start online?

The first proper conversation happens in your home. There is no useful way to begin designing your kitchen without seeing the room. Photographs and floor plans help, but they do not tell us what we need to know about how the space actually works. The visit is where the design starts.

What worktop options are available?

A wide range of materials are available, including stone, quartz, solid timber and specialist laminates. The right choice depends on how you use your kitchen, the look you want, and how the worktop will work alongside the rest of the design. You can find more detail on our worktops pages, and we will go through the options with you properly during the design process.

Do you handle the removal of the existing kitchen?

Yes. Strip-out is included as part of the installation process, so you are not left arranging that separately. If there is plumbing, electrical or structural work required as part of the project, we will coordinate that with the relevant trades so everything is properly sequenced.

We are based in Barnet but close to Finchley. Do you work in both areas?

Yes. We work across Barnet, Finchley, Ealing, Chiswick and throughout north and west London. Where you are in the area does not change how the project is approached. The starting point is always the same: your room, your home.
