Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Tameside Home
Whether you are in a Victorian terrace in Mossley or a family home on the edge of the moors, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, not adapted from a standard layout.

Designed Around Your Home
Designing a kitchen well begins before any decisions about doors or finishes. It starts with the room: where the light comes in, how you move through the space, how the kitchen connects to the rest of your home. Layout and proportions come first. Once those are right, every other decision follows naturally from them.
Tameside has a strong mix of Victorian terraces, inter-war semis, and larger family homes, each with its own proportions and constraints. A narrow galley in a Stalybridge terrace calls for a completely different approach to a wide rear kitchen in a Hyde semi. Your kitchen is designed around the room you actually have, not a room someone assumed you might have. If you want to explore kitchen styles and finishes, that conversation always starts with the space itself.
Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot move: these are things we work out at the design stage, not problems discovered during installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is accounted for. The design reflects the room exactly as it is, down to the last millimetre.
Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person designing it understands exactly how it will be made, which is how the finished result stays true to what was planned from the start.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last
Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what that means in practice.
The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The components you open and close hundreds of times a year are built to exactly the same standard as the ones on show. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over time.
Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room needs an unusual width, a run beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration specific to your space, we design and build it exactly as required. Nothing is forced to fit a standard that was drawn up for a different kind of room.
Your Tameside Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish
From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress between contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it throughout. How we work explains the process in full if you want to understand what each stage involves.
The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out how to interpret them.
Tameside homes cover a wide range of periods and types. A Victorian terrace in Dukinfield has different starting points to a post-war semi in Denton or a larger family home near the Pennine edge. Your project is treated on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a programme drawn up for a different kind of house entirely.
Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for details that were not fully resolved at the design stage. The work on your home is straightforward because the preparation was thorough.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from start to finish?
It depends on the complexity of the project, but as a general guide you should allow several months from your initial consultation to installation day. The design stage takes time to get right, manufacturing follows once everything is agreed, and installation is typically completed over one to two weeks depending on the size of your kitchen. We will give you a clear timeline once we have a full picture of your project.
What happens at the first consultation?
We come to your home, look at the room properly, and have a straightforward conversation about what you want. We will ask about how you use your kitchen, what is not working in the current space, and what you are hoping to achieve. It is not a presentation. It is a working conversation, and it gives us everything we need to begin thinking about your design.
Can you work with awkward or unusual rooms?
Yes, and in many ways those are the projects where a bespoke approach makes the most difference. Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, rooms that are not square, walls that cannot be moved: all of these are resolved at the design stage. Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not trying to fit standard units into a space that does not suit them.
What styles of kitchen do you offer?
We do not work from a fixed catalogue of styles, but we cover the full range of what you would expect from a bespoke kitchen, from traditional shaker designs to clean handleless layouts and classic in-frame construction. The style you choose is guided by your home, your taste, and what suits the architecture of your room. We will help you think through what works best for your specific space.
What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?
It varies considerably, and honestly that is not us avoiding the question. A kitchen in a compact Victorian terrace with straightforward storage requirements costs less than a large open-plan kitchen with extensive island cabinetry, premium worktops, and integrated appliances throughout. Materials, room size, the level of storage detail, and the appliances you choose all affect the total. What we can say is that our kitchens represent a serious investment in your home, and we work with budgets where quality and longevity are the priority. The best way to get a realistic figure is to have a conversation about your specific project.
Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?
Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful in those situations. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, an extension, a reconfiguration of your ground floor, or a full renovation, we can design around structural changes that are still in progress and coordinate manufacturing to fit the build programme. You are not trying to align a separate kitchen supplier with a construction timeline that keeps moving. Everything sits within one team.
How is a Mastercraft kitchen different from one bought through a kitchen showroom?
The main difference is that your kitchen is designed and built specifically for your room, not selected from a range of standard sizes and configurations. Showroom kitchens are assembled from catalogue units, which means the design is shaped around what is available. We start from your space and work forward from there. Your cabinetry is also factory assembled in our own workshop before it arrives, not put together on site from flat-pack components.
Who handles the installation?
Our own installation team, the same people who have been involved in your project throughout. There are no subcontractors brought in at the end. The people fitting your kitchen understand exactly what was designed and how it was made, which makes the installation process straightforward and means nothing gets lost in translation between separate companies.
Do you supply and fit appliances as well?
Yes. We can advise on appliances as part of the design process, source them, and integrate them into the installation. Getting the appliance specification right early matters because it affects the cabinetry design, the ventilation planning, and how the whole kitchen works together. It is much easier to plan for appliances from the start than to work backwards from choices made separately.
Can you work with period properties or listed buildings?
Tameside has a lot of Victorian and Edwardian housing, and we are used to working with the constraints that come with older properties. That includes uneven walls, floors that are not level, awkward alcoves, and original features that need to be respected. If there are listed building considerations that affect what can be changed, we factor those in at the design stage. We will ask the right questions early so nothing comes as a surprise later.
How do worktops work within the bespoke process?
Worktops are chosen as part of the overall design, not as a separate afterthought. We will talk through the options that suit your kitchen and the way you use it, whether that is stone, solid timber, composite, or something else. The right worktop depends on your room, your aesthetic, and how you actually cook and live. We help you think through that properly rather than presenting you with a price list.
What areas of Tameside do you cover?
We work across the whole Tameside borough, including Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Hyde, Dukinfield, Mossley, Denton, Droylsden, and the surrounding areas. If you are not sure whether we cover your specific location, just get in touch and we will confirm. We are also happy to travel for the right project.
