Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well begins with the room itself. The light, the way you move through it, how it connects to the rest of the house, these things shape the layout before anything else. Get the layout right and the visual decisions follow naturally. Work in the wrong order and even a beautiful kitchen can feel like it does not quite belong.

Wilmslow has a real mix of housing. Large detached family homes, executive new builds, period semis, converted properties, each one brings its own proportions and its own constraints. The architecture is the starting point. Your kitchen is designed to sit within it properly, not lifted from a drawing that was done for a different kind of space.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot move, these things are worked out at the design stage, not on installation day. By the time your kitchen goes into production, every dimension is confirmed and accounted for. Nothing arrives on site needing to be improvised around a feature that was not fully considered beforehand.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made, because making it is part of what we do.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. What arrives at your home is a finished piece of furniture, not a kit waiting to be made up in your kitchen.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you look at every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings, all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you rarely see are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over time.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not working from a catalogue of standard sizes. If your room needs an unusual width, a run beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration specific to your space, we design and build it exactly as required. The workshop produces what the design calls for, not the nearest available equivalent.

Your Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it all the way through.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity matters in practice, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out how to make them fit.

Wilmslow homes vary considerably. A large detached house on a generous plot sits differently to a converted property or a period semi with original features still in place. Your project is worked through on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a standard programme that was written for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything goes into production. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take, from first conversation to finished kitchen?

It varies depending on the complexity of your project, but as a general guide you should plan for several months from initial design through to installation. Design and specification take time to get right, and your kitchen is then manufactured in our workshop before the installation team comes in. We will give you a clear programme once we understand your project properly.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home and look at the space properly. We talk through how you use the room, what is working and what is not, and what you want from the new kitchen. We take measurements and get a real sense of the space. From there, we can start thinking about the design. There is no obligation and no hard sell.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

There is a genuine range, and it depends on several things: the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances, and how much storage detail and internal organisation the design calls for. As a broad indication, most projects with Mastercraft fall somewhere between fifty and one hundred thousand pounds, though some are higher. What matters is understanding what you want and designing to that, not starting from a price and working backwards. We will give you honest guidance once we know your project.

Can you work with an unusual room layout or awkward features?

Yes, and this is where designing and manufacturing in-house makes a real difference. Chimney breasts, alcoves, sloping ceilings, structural walls, these are all resolved at the design stage. Because we build your kitchen ourselves, we are not constrained by standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room has something unusual about it, the design accounts for it properly.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. A kitchen that is part of a wider building project benefits particularly from having design and manufacturing under one roof. If your extension is still being built or your layout is changing as part of a renovation, we can work alongside your builder and other trades, coordinating the kitchen design with what is happening structurally. Having one team responsible for design and manufacture means changes can be handled without things falling between the gaps.

What styles of kitchen do you design?

We design kitchens across a wide range of styles, from clean, contemporary layouts to more traditional or period-appropriate designs. Because everything is designed and built from scratch, the style follows your home and your taste, not a collection in a brochure. We will talk through what feels right for your space and take it from there.

How is the cabinetry actually made?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not shipped as flat-pack components to be assembled in your home. This approach produces a more consistent and durable result. When it arrives at your home, it is ready to install as finished furniture.

Who carries out the installation?

Our own installation team. The same company that designs and manufactures your kitchen installs it. That matters because the people fitting your kitchen understand exactly how it was designed and built. There are no separate contractors coming in at the end without full knowledge of the project.

How do you handle the measuring process?

We carry out a full measured survey of your room before anything goes into production. Every dimension is confirmed precisely before manufacturing begins. That is how we ensure everything fits correctly when installation starts. There are no adjustments made on site to compensate for things that were not accounted for earlier.

Do you supply appliances as well?

Yes. We can source and supply appliances as part of the project. If you have specific appliances in mind, we design around them. If you want guidance on what works well in the kind of kitchen you are planning, we can advise on that too. Either way, appliances are factored into the design from the beginning, not added at the end.

I am in Wilmslow but not far from Altrincham or Knutsford. Do you cover those areas too?

Yes. We work across Wilmslow and the wider Cheshire area, including Altrincham, Knutsford, Macclesfield and the surrounding towns. The same team, the same process, the same standard throughout.

What is the best way to get started?

Get in touch and tell us a little about your home and what you are thinking about. We will arrange a time to come and see the space, have a proper conversation about your project, and go from there. There is no commitment and no pressure. The first step is just a conversation.
