About Tavola

Tavola is a real oak veneer slab door with a distinctive horizontal grain. It gives you the clean, simple shape of a modern slab kitchen, but with the warmth, movement and natural variation of timber.

Unlike a flat painted door, Tavola has visible grain running across the face of each door and drawer front. This gives the cabinetry a more textured, furniture-like quality, especially across wide drawer runs, island panels and tall banks where the grain can become a strong part of the design.

A modern slab door with real timber character

The Tavola door is built around a slab design, so there are no rails, centre panels or decorative frame details. The look is clean and contemporary, but the oak veneer brings a softer, more natural feel than a plain matt or gloss surface.

The horizontal grain is one of Tavola’s defining features. It draws the eye across the width of the cabinetry, making it particularly effective on long island runs, low base units and handleless layouts where the kitchen needs to feel calm, ordered and architectural.

Natural oak veneer, finished your way

Tavola is available in sanded, stained and painted finishes, allowing the same slab door to take on very different moods. A lighter oak finish can feel warm and relaxed, while deeper stained finishes create a richer, more dramatic look.

Because Tavola uses real oak veneer, the grain will vary from door to door. That variation is part of its character. Each piece has its own movement, tone and pattern, so the finished kitchen feels less uniform than a printed wood-effect surface and much closer to fitted furniture.

Designed for handleless or handled kitchens

Tavola works beautifully as a handleless kitchen, where the horizontal grain can run cleanly across the cabinetry with very little interruption. It also pairs well with slim handles, recessed pulls or darker metal details if you want the handle choice to become part of the design.

In a Mastercraft kitchen, we would use the door style, grain direction, handle choice and layout together, so the finished room feels balanced rather than simply fitted with timber doors.

Planned as a complete Mastercraft design

Tavola is a strong starting point for a kitchen with natural warmth and modern structure. It works well with stone worktops, dark accents, soft neutral walls, bronze or black detailing, and flooring that complements the movement of the oak.

Your Mastercraft Tavola kitchen would be designed around your room, your light, your appliances and the way you want to use the space. From cabinet proportions and grain direction to worktops, lighting, flooring and finishing details, every element is brought together as one complete Mastercraft design.
