Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Stourbridge Home

Whether you are in a large Victorian semi off the Hagley Road or a detached family home on the edges of town, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, not adapted from something generic.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room. How light moves through it during the day, where the natural flow is, how it connects to the dining area or the garden. Layout and proportions come first. Once those decisions are right, everything else, the materials, the finish, the style, follows from a solid foundation.

Stourbridge has a strong stock of large Victorian and Edwardian semis, solidly built detached family homes, and quality suburban housing that has been extended and improved over the years. Each of these brings its own proportions and its own starting point. Your kitchen is designed to sit within the architecture of your home, not laid over the top of it.

Chimney breasts, alcoves, walls that cannot move, ceilings that slope at the back of the room: these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around on the day. Every dimension is accounted for before manufacturing begins. By the time your kitchen is being built, there are no outstanding questions about how it will fit.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The designer who draws your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made and what it will take to fit it properly in your home.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built to the exact dimensions of your room. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves. Not flat-pack components put together in your kitchen on installation day. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it means your kitchen arrives ready to go in, not ready to be constructed.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts that are most visible. Drawer runners, hinges, internal fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The quality of what you cannot see is what determines how well a kitchen holds up over ten, fifteen, twenty years of daily use.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not working from a catalogue of fixed sizes. If your room calls for an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that does not correspond to anything standard, we design and build exactly what is needed. The room sets the brief.

Your Stourbridge Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating between separate contractors or chasing progress updates. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it all the way through.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity matters in practice, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site to see your plans for the first time and start making decisions on the fly.

Stourbridge homes vary considerably in their starting points. A large Victorian semi with original proportions is a very different project to a modern detached with an open-plan rear extension. Each is treated on its own terms. Our process is built around your specific home, not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of space.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the precise measurements of your room, taken before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit correctly. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design and survey stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

The honest answer is that it varies, and quite significantly depending on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances you want to include, and the level of storage detail involved. A straightforward kitchen in a mid-sized room is a very different project to a large open-plan space with extensive cabinetry and high-specification worktops. What we can say is that our kitchens are typically in the range that reflects serious design and manufacturing quality. This is not a decision to make on price alone. It is an investment in how your home works and how it holds up over time. The best starting point is a conversation about your specific room and what you want from it, from there we can give you a clear and honest picture.

What happens at the initial design consultation?

We come to your home and look at the space properly. We talk through how you use your kitchen, what you find frustrating about the current one, what you want the new one to do. We take note of the room's proportions, the light, how it connects to the rest of the house. It is a practical conversation, not a sales presentation. There is no obligation at this stage.

How long does the whole process take from first conversation to installation?

It depends on the complexity of your project, but in general you should allow several months from the initial design work through to installation being complete. Design takes time to do properly, manufacturing follows once every detail is finalised, and installation is scheduled to suit your home. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project fully.

Can you work with an unusual room layout or awkward features?

Yes, and in practice most rooms have something that makes them specific. A chimney breast that cannot be removed, an alcove with an odd width, a ceiling that drops at one end, a wall that angles slightly. These things are resolved at the design stage. Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we are not constrained by standard sizes. Your kitchen is built to fit your room exactly.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

We design across a wide range of styles, from traditional shaker kitchens and classic in-frame cabinetry through to contemporary handleless designs. The style is chosen to suit your home and how you want the kitchen to feel, not steered by what happens to be popular at the moment. We will talk through the options that make sense for your space during the design process.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful when a kitchen is part of a wider building project. If you are extending or reconfiguring your home, we can work alongside your architect or contractor from an early stage, so the kitchen design informs the build rather than being fitted around it afterwards. The fact that we control the full process means we can coordinate properly with what else is happening on site.

How is my kitchen manufactured, and where?

Your kitchen is built in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components that are put together on the day. It is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. That is what allows installation to go smoothly and the finished result to sit correctly in your space.

Who manages the installation, and will the same people be involved throughout?

Installation is carried out by our own team, not subcontracted out. The people fitting your kitchen understand how it was designed and built. There are no handovers between separate contractors and no one arriving on site without proper knowledge of your project. From design through to the final day of installation, the same team holds responsibility.

What worktop materials are available?

We work with a wide range of worktop materials including stone, quartz, solid timber, and more. The right choice depends on how you use your kitchen, the look you want, and how it sits alongside your cabinetry and flooring. We will talk through the options during the design process and help you make a decision that works practically as well as visually. You can also find out more about the worktop options we offer on our website.

Do you supply appliances as well as the cabinetry?

We can advise on appliances and help you select options that work with the kitchen design and your day-to-day cooking habits. Getting the appliance decisions right early matters, because it affects the layout and the cabinetry specification. We will make sure appliances and cabinetry are planned together from the start rather than bolted on afterwards.

How much disruption should I expect during installation?

Any kitchen installation involves a period where your kitchen is out of use. We plan installation carefully to keep that period as short and predictable as possible. Because your cabinetry arrives fully manufactured and ready to fit, we are not building things on site from scratch. We will talk through what to expect, and when, so you can plan around it properly.

I am in the early stages of thinking about this. Is it too soon to get in touch?

Not at all. The earlier we can talk, the more useful the conversation tends to be. If you are still working out what you want, or whether to extend first, or how to think about the budget, those are exactly the kinds of things worth discussing before decisions get made. There is no obligation at the initial stage, just a practical conversation about your home and what might be possible.
