ECO Individual Lid
This is a replacement or additional lid for Blum's 25 and 42 litre ECO waste bins. The grey plastic lid sits directly on top of the bin to contain odours and keep waste out of sight when the pull-out drawer is closed.
Where It Fits
You'll use this with ECO bins that sit in pull-out waste drawers, typically in base units near your sink or preparation area. The lid becomes essential if your bin sits in a frequently used cabinet where you want to prevent smells from escaping into the kitchen.
Why It Matters
Without a lid, food waste and general rubbish can create odours that linger in your cabinets and kitchen. The lid also prevents flies and other pests from getting to your waste, which matters particularly in warmer months or if your bin isn't emptied daily.
Build Quality
The lid is made from durable plastic in Orion Grey, which coordinates with Blum's other waste system components. At 230mm wide by 412mm deep, it fits precisely on the 25 and 42 litre ECO bins without overhang or gaps that would compromise the seal.
Design Consideration
This works well if you generate significant food waste or if your bin cabinet gets warm from nearby cooking areas. However, if you empty your bins very frequently or your waste is mostly dry packaging, you might find the lid unnecessary. The 35mm height does reduce the effective capacity of your bin slightly.
Consider whether you actually need this lid based on your household's waste patterns and how often you empty bins. If odours aren't an issue in your current kitchen setup, the bin functions perfectly well without it.
