110° CLIP top BLUMOTION Angled Hinge
This is Blum's angled hinge for cabinet doors that need to open beyond the standard 107 degrees. The 110-degree opening angle, combined with the angled design, allows doors to clear obstacles or work in tight spaces where a standard hinge would catch or bind.
Where It Fits
You'll use this hinge on cabinets positioned at angles between -50 and +50 degrees from perpendicular. Think corner units, angled peninsula ends, or cabinets that follow slanted walls. It works with overlay doors between 16 and 24mm thick and requires a CLIP mounting plate, which attaches to the cabinet side.
How It Works
The hinge incorporates Blum's BLUMOTION soft-close mechanism directly into the boss, the cylindrical part that houses the spring. This means the soft-close action happens within the hinge itself, not through separate dampers. You can adjust the hinge in three dimensions: side to side by 1.8mm each way, up and down by 3mm each way, and depth by 3mm forward or 2mm back.
Why It Matters
The soft-close adapts to each door's weight and the force you use to close it. Whether you push gently or give it a firm shove, the door will slow and close completely without slamming. This matters more on angled cabinets because the door's weight acts differently as it swings, but the BLUMOTION system compensates automatically.
Design Consideration
This hinge solves specific geometric problems in kitchen design, but it's not universal. You need the extra opening angle and angled mounting capability for it to make sense. For standard perpendicular cabinets, a regular 107-degree hinge would be more appropriate. The soft-close can be deactivated if you have very light doors that don't need the damping action.
Build Quality
The steel construction with nickel finish matches Blum's standard quality. The BLUMOTION mechanism is built into the hinge boss rather than added as a separate component, which means fewer parts and more reliable operation. The three-dimensional adjustment uses a spiral screw system that holds its position once set.
Options
This comes as a single hinge in nickel finish. You'll need to specify the appropriate CLIP mounting plate separately, as different cabinet constructions require different plate types. Hinge arm and boss covers are available if you want to conceal the mechanism completely.
Closing Guidance
Consider this hinge when your cabinet angles create clearance issues or when you need doors to open wider than normal. The integrated soft-close removes the need for separate dampers, keeping the mechanism simple and the cabinet interior uncluttered.
