Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Chiswick Home

Your kitchen needs to be designed properly for your home. Not adapted from a standard range, not adjusted as things progress, but planned from the room itself, so that everything works as it should once it is in place. The same team handles your project from the first conversation through to installation, which means nothing gets lost between the people designing it and the people building it.

Designed Around Your Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in your home in Chiswick, the starting point is always the room itself. The layout, the light, the way you move through the space. That is what the design is built around, before anything else is decided.

Homes in Chiswick vary more than most people expect. A Georgian townhouse behaves very differently to a mansion flat, a converted warehouse or an Edwardian semi. Each one has its own proportions, its own constraints. Your kitchen is designed from scratch around your room, not adapted from something that was drawn up for a different kind of home entirely.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, awkward corners: these are resolved at the design stage, not on installation day. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has already been worked through and accounted for.

The designer who plans your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made. So when it arrives, it fits how the room has been planned. One team, one process, carried through from the first conversation.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. That approach produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it means your kitchen arrives ready to install rather than ready to construct.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you do not see every day are built to hold up just as well as the ones you do. That is what determines how well a kitchen performs over years of daily use.

Because your kitchen is made in our own workshop, it is not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room needs a run beneath a sloping ceiling, a cabinet built around a structural column, or a width that no off-the-shelf range would ever accommodate, it is designed and built exactly as required. Your space sets the brief, not the other way around.

One Team, from Design Through to Installation

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. Everything moves forward properly because the same people hold it from start to finish.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time.

Chiswick homes each bring their own starting point. The ceiling heights in a Georgian townhouse, the open-plan layout of a converted warehouse, the original proportions of an Edwardian semi: none of these are treated as complications to work around. Your project is considered on its own terms, planned for your home specifically, not adjusted to fit a programme that was drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not resolved at the design stage, because by that point, they already have been.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft typically cost?

It depends on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances, and the level of storage detail involved. As a general guide, most projects fall somewhere between £25,000 and £60,000 fully installed, though some are more and some are less. The reason bespoke kitchens vary so much in price is that everything is designed and built around your specific home, so there is no standard configuration to price against. The most useful thing we can do is come and see your room, understand what you are looking for, and give you a clear picture of what your project would involve.

How long does the whole process take from first conversation to finished kitchen?

Most kitchens take around three to five months from design to installation, depending on how involved the project is. The design phase typically runs for several weeks, during which every detail is resolved before manufacturing begins. Manufacturing itself usually takes six to eight weeks. Installation, depending on the size of the kitchen, generally takes one to two weeks. You will know your programme well in advance so you can plan around it.

What happens at the initial design consultation?

We come to your home in Chiswick, look at the room properly, and talk through how you use the space and what you need it to do. It is a straightforward conversation. We are not presenting you with a sales pitch or a pre-built design. We are trying to understand your room and your project so that everything that follows is based on the right starting point.

Can you design a kitchen around an unusual room? Mine has a chimney breast and a sloping ceiling.

Yes, and those kinds of features are exactly what bespoke design is for. Chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, alcoves, structural columns: these are all resolved at the design stage, not worked around on installation day. By the time your kitchen is being manufactured, every dimension has already been accounted for. Nothing is left to figure out once we are on site.

What styles and finishes are available?

Because your kitchen is designed from scratch, you are not limited to a fixed range of door styles or finishes. Shaker kitchens, in-frame kitchens, handleless designs: we work across all of them, and the choice is based on what suits your home and how you want the space to feel, not what happens to be in stock. Paint colours, materials, and hardware are all chosen for your kitchen specifically.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly valuable when a kitchen is part of a wider building project. When your kitchen is being planned at the same time as structural or architectural work, we can coordinate dimensions and services properly from the start, rather than trying to fit a finished kitchen into a space that was not fully considered in advance. It removes a significant amount of uncertainty from the wider project.

How is the cabinetry manufactured, and does it come flat-pack?

Your cabinets are factory assembled in our own UK workshop before they leave. Nothing arrives as flat-pack components to be put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and it means that when your kitchen arrives, it is ready to install rather than ready to construct. The build quality is determined in the workshop, not on your kitchen floor.

Who installs the kitchen, and are they part of your team?

Installation is carried out by our own installation team, the same people who are part of the Mastercraft process throughout. They know what was designed, how it was built, and exactly how it should go together. You are not dealing with a separate contractor who is seeing the project for the first time on installation day.

Do you handle the plumbing and electrical work as well?

We coordinate with trusted trades for plumbing and electrical work as part of the overall project. You are not left to manage separate contractors yourself. The programme is managed so that each stage follows on properly, and you have one point of contact throughout rather than several different people to chase.

Can you work with the proportions of a period home? I have a Georgian terrace and I want the kitchen to feel right for the house.

That is exactly the kind of conversation we have at the start of every project in a period home. The design takes its cues from the room: ceiling heights, original details, the way light moves through the space. Your kitchen should feel like it belongs in your home, not like it was dropped into it. That comes from understanding the room properly before any design decisions are made.

How far in advance do I need to start planning?

If you have a rough timescale in mind, it is worth getting in touch at least four to six months before you would want the kitchen installed. That gives enough time to go through the design process properly without rushing any stage. If you are at the very early stages and not sure yet, that is fine too. An initial conversation does not commit you to anything, it just helps you understand what the process involves and what your project might look like.

Do you only work in Chiswick, or across a wider area?

We work across a wide area of London and the surrounding region. As well as Chiswick, we regularly work in Putney, Pinner, Stanmore, and many other parts of the area. If you are not sure whether we cover your location, just ask when you get in touch.
