Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Daventry Home

Whether you live in a period property near the town centre or a modern family home on one of Daventry’s newer developments, your kitchen is designed specifically for your space, not adapted from something drawn for a different house.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with how the room sits in your home. Where the light comes from. How you move through the space. How it connects to the rest of the house. Layout and proportions come first. Once those are right, the visual decisions follow naturally. Getting the sequence the wrong way round is one of the most common reasons kitchens disappoint.

Daventry has a genuinely varied housing stock. A Victorian semi near the town centre, a detached family home on a newer estate, a period property in one of the surrounding villages: each brings its own floor plan, ceiling height and set of proportions. Your kitchen is designed to sit within the architecture of your home, not applied over it. It starts from your room, not from a catalogue layout drawn for somewhere else.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot move: these are resolved at the design stage, not worked around on the day of installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is fully accounted for. The cabinetry arrives ready for your room because it was drawn from your room in the first place.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The designer who draws it understands exactly how it will be made, and the people who make it know what was intended and why.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and fully assembled before it leaves the workshop, not delivered as flat-pack components to be put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish. That difference shows in how the doors hang, how the drawers run, and how the whole kitchen holds together over time.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified to the same level as the doors and worktops. The components you open and close hundreds of times a year are built to the same standard as the ones you admire from across the room. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over the years.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not working from a catalogue of standard sizes. If your room needs an unusual cabinet width, a run of units beneath a sloping ceiling, or a configuration that does not exist in any standard range, we design and build it exactly as your space requires. The workshop serves the design, not the other way round.

Your Daventry Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress across multiple contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because the same team holds it throughout. You have one point of contact and a clear process you can follow.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and making decisions on the spot. If you want to understand how the process works in full, we are happy to walk you through it before you commit to anything.

Daventry homes vary considerably. A market town semi, a modern detached family home, a period property with original features still in place: each brings a different starting point. Your project is treated on its own terms. The programme is built around what your home actually requires, not adjusted to fit a standard schedule drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, taken from a precise measured survey before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully thought through at the design stage. The installation proceeds as planned because the planning was thorough.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from first conversation to installation?

It varies depending on the complexity of your project and how quickly decisions are made, but as a general guide you should allow several months from initial consultation through to completed installation. The design stage takes time to get right, manufacturing follows once everything is confirmed, and installation is scheduled once your kitchen is ready to fit. We will give you a clear programme once we understand your project properly.

What happens at the initial consultation?

We come to your home and spend time looking at the space properly. We will ask about how you use your kitchen, what is working and what is not, and what you want from the new one. We take in the room, the light, the layout, and the wider context of your home. It is a practical conversation, not a presentation. Nothing is pushed, and there is no obligation at that stage.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It is genuinely difficult to give a single figure because the range is wide, and rightly so. A bespoke kitchen is priced on what it actually requires: the size of the room, the materials you choose, the appliances you want, and the level of storage detail involved. A well-specified kitchen in a modest space and a large kitchen with extensive cabinetry, stone worktops and high-end appliances are very different projects. What we can say is that Mastercraft kitchens represent a serious investment in your home. When you speak to us, we will be straightforward with you about what your project is likely to involve, based on your specific room and what you are looking to achieve.

Can you work with awkward or unusual room shapes?

Yes, and these are often the most interesting projects. Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, rooms that are not square: all of these are resolved at the design stage. Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we are not limited to standard cabinet sizes. If your room has unusual dimensions or features, your kitchen is drawn and built to suit them exactly.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, perhaps an extension, a reconfigured ground floor, or a full renovation, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful. We can work alongside your architect or builder, coordinate around structural changes, and ensure the kitchen is designed with full knowledge of what the finished room will be. Because we control the whole process ourselves, we can respond to changes in the build without the complications that come from managing multiple separate suppliers.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

We do not work from a fixed style menu, but we design across the full range of kitchen styles, from traditional shaker kitchens to clean-lined handleless designs. The style of your kitchen is shaped by your home, your taste and the architecture you are working within. If you want to get a sense of the range before we meet, you can browse our kitchen styles and finishes pages for reference.

How is my kitchen actually manufactured?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built to the exact dimensions taken from your room, and each one is fully assembled in the workshop before it leaves. Nothing arrives as flat-pack components to be put together on site. That approach produces a more accurate, more consistent result, and it means the installation process is straightforward because everything has already been made correctly.

Who carries out the installation?

Our own installation team. The same people who are part of your project from the design stage carry it through to the end. They understand your room, they know what was designed and why, and they arrive on site with everything ready to fit. You are not handed over to a subcontractor who is seeing your plans for the first time.

Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want before I get in touch?

Not at all. Many people come to us knowing only that their current kitchen is not working or that they want something better. The consultation is the place to begin forming ideas, not the place to arrive with everything decided. We will ask the right questions and help you think through what the space could be.

Can you design around features I want to keep, such as an existing floor or original period details?

Yes. If your home has existing features worth keeping, whether that is an original floor, exposed brickwork, a fireplace or period joinery, your kitchen is designed around them. Those details often give a room its character, and a good design should work with them, not ignore them.

Do you supply appliances as part of the project?

Yes. Appliances are specified and supplied as part of the project where required. We work with you to choose appliances that suit the way you cook and live, and that sit properly within the design. Because we are coordinating everything ourselves, the integration of appliances into the cabinetry is planned from the beginning, not worked out at the end.

How do I get the process started?

Just get in touch and tell us a little about your home and what you are thinking about. We will arrange a time to come and see the space, and the conversation goes from there. There is nothing formal to prepare and no commitment required at that stage. It is simply the right way to begin.
