Your Kitchen, Designed Around Your Worcester Home

Whether you live in a Georgian townhouse near the cathedral or a large Edwardian family home on the edge of the city, your kitchen is designed from scratch to fit your space exactly.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room itself. The light, how you move through it, where it connects to the rest of the house. Layout and proportions come first. Once those decisions are right, everything else follows. Visual choices, storage, finishes: all of that comes after the space has been properly understood.

Worcester has a strong stock of Georgian townhouses, Victorian semis and large Edwardian family homes. Each brings its own proportions. A tall Georgian kitchen with deep sash windows sits very differently to a wide Edwardian rear extension. Your kitchen is designed to work within the architecture of your home, not imposed on top of it.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, walls that cannot move, ceilings that change height: these are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension has been accounted for. Nothing is left to be worked around when the installation team arrives. The room is understood before a single cabinet is made.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs it knows exactly how it will be made, because the two things are never separated.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves, not flat-pack components put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything built from a kit inside your home. That matters, and you will see it in the finished result.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you cannot see are built to the same standard as the ones you can. That is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over time.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room needs an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or something specific to your layout, we design and build it exactly as required. Nothing is forced to fit from a fixed set of options.

Your Worcester Kitchen Project, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. There are no handoffs between separate contractors, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it from beginning to end. If you want to understand how that process works in practice, we are happy to walk you through it.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and working out how to make them fit.

A Georgian townhouse near Friar Street has very different starting conditions to a large Victorian semi in St John’s or an Edwardian family home in Barbourne. Your project is worked through on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house entirely.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully accounted for at the design stage. The room was understood before manufacturing began.

Begin Your Kitchen Design

If you are thinking about a new kitchen in Worcester, the best starting point is a conversation. There is no pressure and no obligation. Just a straightforward discussion about your home, your room, and what you are hoping to achieve. We can take it from there at whatever pace suits you.

A design consultation is a practical visit, not a sales meeting. We come to your home, look at the space properly, talk through what you want the kitchen to do, and begin building a picture of what is possible. It is the right way to start, and it costs you nothing to find out where it could go.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project take from first conversation to installation?

It varies depending on the complexity of your kitchen and the current programme, but as a general guide you should allow several months from your initial consultation to installation day. The design process takes time to do properly, manufacturing follows once everything is confirmed, and installation is scheduled to work around your home. We will give you a clear timeline once your project is underway, so you know exactly where things stand.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home in Worcester and look at the space properly. That means understanding how the room sits in the house, where the light falls, how you move through it, and what you want the kitchen to do. We ask questions, take in the details, and begin building a picture of what the right design might look like. There is no obligation at that stage. It is simply the right way to start.

Can you work with unusual room shapes, alcoves, or period features I want to keep?

Yes, and this is where bespoke design makes the most difference. Worcester has a lot of homes with original period features, chimney breasts, deep alcoves, irregular walls, ceilings that change height. We design around those things rather than past them. Everything is resolved at the design stage, so by the time manufacturing begins, the room is fully accounted for.

What styles of kitchen can you design for a Worcester home?

We work across a wide range of styles. Shaker kitchens suit many of Worcester's period homes particularly well, but we also design in-frame kitchens for a more traditional feel and cleaner contemporary kitchens where the brief calls for it. The style follows from your home and how you want the kitchen to feel. We do not start from a fixed collection and work backwards.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It depends on a number of things: the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances, the level of storage detail, and how complex the layout is. Bespoke kitchens vary considerably because every one is different. As a broad frame of reference, projects at this level are typically a meaningful five-figure investment. The right way to think about it is as a long-term investment in your home, something designed and built to last rather than to be replaced. Once we understand your space and brief, we can give you a much clearer picture.

How is the cabinetry made, and where?

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it arrives at your home, not flat-pack components put together on site. Because we make everything ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or off-the-shelf configurations. If your room needs something specific, we build it that way.

Do you manage the full installation, or do I need to arrange other trades separately?

We manage the installation from start to finish. You are not left organising separate contractors or chasing progress. The team who installs your kitchen is part of the same process that designed and built it, so everyone understands exactly how the project was put together and what the finished result should look like.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly useful. We can work alongside your architect or builder, and because we control the manufacturing ourselves, we can adapt to the programme if dimensions change during the build. There are no delays caused by waiting on a third-party supplier who does not know the project. Everything stays joined up.

Can I see examples of kitchens you have designed for period homes similar to mine?

Yes. We are happy to share relevant examples during your consultation, and you can also find inspiration and past projects in our journal. When we visit your home, we will talk through what has worked well in similar properties and how we approached those design challenges.

What worktop materials do you work with?

We work with a wide range of worktop materials, from natural stone and engineered stone through to hardwood, glass, and specialist surfaces. The right choice depends on how you use your kitchen, the look you are after, and how the worktop relates to the rest of the design. We will guide you through the options once the layout is taking shape.

How do measurements work, and what if my room has uneven walls or floors?

We measure your room precisely before anything is manufactured. Period homes in Worcester often have walls that are not perfectly square and floors that are not perfectly level. We account for all of that at the design stage. By the time your cabinetry is made, every dimension reflects the actual conditions of your room, not an assumed standard.

Is Mastercraft the right choice if I want something very specific or have a clear idea of what I want?

Absolutely. Some of the best projects start with a clear brief from the outset. If you know what you want, we can focus the design conversation on how to achieve it properly within your room and your budget. If you are less certain, we can help you work it through. Either way, the process is the same: we start from your space and your life, and design from there.
