Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Birmingham Home

Whether you live in a Victorian townhouse in Harborne, an Edwardian semi in Edgbaston, or a modern apartment in the city, your kitchen is designed specifically for your home and the way you use it.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room itself. The light, the way you move through it, how it connects to the rest of the house. Layout and proportions come first, and visual decisions follow from that. Getting those fundamentals right is what makes everything else work. That is where every project begins.

Birmingham’s homes cover a wide range of building periods and styles. A Victorian townhouse in Moseley has very different proportions to an executive home on the edge of Sutton Coldfield, or a modern apartment in the city centre. Each brings its own architecture. Your kitchen is designed to sit within it, not applied over it.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, walls that cannot move: these things are resolved at the design stage. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is accounted for. Nothing is left to be worked around on installation day. The drawings reflect the room as it actually is.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be made, and that continuity shows in the finished result.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled before it leaves. This is not flat-pack construction put together on site. Factory assembly produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish, and that difference is something you will notice every day in how the kitchen looks and feels.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the parts you see most often. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings: all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what that means in practice. The parts you do not see are built to the same standard as the ones you do.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard sizes or catalogue configurations. If your room calls for an unusual width, a run of cabinetry beneath a sloping ceiling, or a layout that does not follow a conventional pattern, we design and build it exactly as required. The room sets the brief, not the other way round.

Your Kitchen Project in Birmingham, Handled from Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not left coordinating separate trades or chasing progress updates. There are no handoffs between contractors, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it from beginning to end.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real practical difference, especially when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. Nobody arrives on site seeing your plans for the first time and trying to work out what was intended.

A Victorian townhouse in Edgbaston, an Edwardian semi in Harborne, a modern city apartment, an executive home on the suburban edge of the city: each brings its own starting point. Your project is treated on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a standard programme drawn up for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything is made. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not fully accounted for at the design stage. The process is planned carefully so that the installation itself is straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen project typically take from first conversation to installation?

It varies depending on the complexity of the design and the scale of the project, but as a general guide you should allow around twelve to sixteen weeks from your initial consultation through to installation. Larger or more involved projects may take a little longer. We will give you a clear timeline at the design stage so you know what to expect.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home, look at the room properly, and talk through how you use it, what is not working at the moment, and what you want the finished kitchen to do. It is a practical conversation, not a sales meeting. We take measurements and start to understand the constraints and possibilities of your space. There is no obligation at that stage.

What does a bespoke kitchen typically cost?

It depends on a number of things: the size of the room, the materials you choose, the appliances, and the level of storage detail and internal fittings you want. Bespoke kitchens vary considerably because every one is different. As a general guide, most projects we work on fall somewhere in the range of £30,000 to £80,000 or above, fully designed, manufactured and installed. It is worth thinking about this as a long-term investment in your home rather than a purchase, because a well-designed and properly built kitchen should last many decades. We will give you an accurate cost once we understand your project fully.

Can you work with unusual room shapes or awkward features like chimney breasts or alcoves?

Yes, and those kinds of features are something we deal with regularly, particularly in Birmingham's older housing stock. Chimney breasts, alcoves, ceiling drops, irregular walls: all of these are resolved at the design stage. Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we are not limited to standard cabinet sizes. We build to the dimensions of your room.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes. If your kitchen is part of a wider building project, an extension, a full ground-floor renovation or a structural reconfiguration, having design and manufacturing under one roof is particularly valuable. We can work alongside your architect or builder and feed accurate kitchen dimensions and requirements into the build programme early on. That avoids the common problem of a kitchen being designed after the building work is done, when the options are already limited by decisions that have already been made.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

We design across the full range of styles, from classic in-frame and shaker kitchens to contemporary handleless designs. Because everything is made to order, you are not limited to what you can see in a showroom. The style, finish, colour and detail are all chosen to suit your home and your taste. We will guide you through those decisions as part of the design process.

Is everything made in the UK?

Yes. Your kitchen is manufactured in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built specifically for your home, not produced in a factory overseas and shipped in. Building in-house means we control the quality throughout, and it means your kitchen can be made to the exact dimensions your room requires.

Who installs the kitchen, and will it be the same people throughout?

Installation is carried out by our own team. You are not passed to a third-party fitter once the cabinets have been made. The people who install your kitchen understand how it was designed and how it was built. That continuity matters, especially when a room has specific details that need to be handled carefully on site.

Do you also supply and fit appliances?

Yes. Appliances are specced and coordinated as part of the design process, so everything is planned together from the start. This avoids the common problem of appliances being ordered separately and then not integrating properly with the cabinetry. We work with a range of appliance suppliers and can advise on what suits your kitchen and your budget.

Can I see examples of your work before committing to anything?

Yes. We can show you previous projects, talk through how different rooms were approached, and give you a clear picture of the range of outcomes we have achieved. We also have a showroom where you can see cabinet construction and finishes in person. The best starting point is usually a conversation followed by a home visit, where we can talk about your specific project.

I am in Harborne. Is that within your area?

Yes, we work throughout Birmingham, including Harborne, Edgbaston, Moseley, Sutton Coldfield and the wider city. We also cover the surrounding area, including Solihull, Lichfield and the broader West Midlands region. If you are not sure whether your location falls within our coverage, just get in touch and we will confirm.

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to get in touch and have a brief conversation about what you have in mind. From there, we arrange a home visit, look at your room properly, and begin to understand the project. There is no obligation at that stage, and no pressure to make any decisions before you are ready.
