Your Kitchen, Designed for Your Altrincham Home

If you are planning a new kitchen in Altrincham, we design it around your home specifically, the room, the light, the way you use the space.

Designed Around Your Home

Designing a kitchen well starts with the room. The light, the proportions, how the space connects to the rest of your home, these things shape the layout before anything else is decided. Where you move, where you cook, where you want to sit. Visual decisions follow from that foundation. The room sets the brief.

Altrincham has a wide range of property types. Large Victorian and Edwardian homes with deep, well-proportioned rooms. Extended semis and detacheds where the kitchen often spans original and added space. New builds with their own constraints. Converted properties with unusual geometries. Each one starts from a different point, and your kitchen is designed to sit within yours.

Alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, structural walls, these are worked through at the design stage, not around during installation. By the time manufacturing begins, every dimension is fixed and every constraint is resolved. Nothing is left to figure out on the day the team arrives to fit it.

Your kitchen is designed individually, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by the same team throughout. One process, one point of responsibility. The person who designs it understands exactly how it will be made and what the finished result needs to look like in your room.

Crafted Cabinetry, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet arrives rigid and factory assembled, not flat-pack components put together on site. Assembly in a controlled workshop environment produces tighter tolerances and a more consistent finish than anything that goes together in your kitchen from a kit of parts.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the surfaces you look at every day. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings, all specified and finished to the same level as the doors and worktops. The parts you rarely see are built to the same standard as the ones you do. That is what determines how your kitchen holds up over time.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to what a catalogue offers. If your room needs an unusual run of cabinetry, a specific width, or a section that works beneath a sloping ceiling, we design and build it exactly as your space requires. Standard sizes are a starting point, not a constraint.

Your Altrincham Kitchen Project, Handled From Start to Finish

From your first conversation through to the day your kitchen is handed over, the whole project sits with Mastercraft. Design, manufacturing, installation: one team, one process. You are not coordinating trades or chasing progress between separate contractors. There are no handoffs, no gaps in responsibility. Everything moves forward properly because one team holds it throughout.

The designers who plan your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The team who builds it knows what was designed and why. That continuity makes a real difference, particularly when your room has unusual features or specific constraints. No one arrives on site looking at your plans for the first time.

Altrincham’s housing stock covers a lot of ground. A Victorian terrace in the town centre, an extended detached near Hale, a new build on the edge of the borough, each one has its own starting point. Your project is handled on its own terms, not adjusted to fit a standard programme that was written for a different kind of house.

Your cabinetry is manufactured to the exact dimensions of your room, measured precisely before anything goes into production. When installation begins, everything arrives ready to fit. There are no on-site adjustments to compensate for things that were not properly resolved at the design stage.

Why People in Altrincham Work With Mastercraft

A kitchen at this level is one of the most significant investments you make in your home. The team you choose to design and build it matters. Mastercraft is a design and manufacturing practice, not a showroom brand, and not a company that outsources the work once the plans are signed off.

  • Designed, made and installed by the same team, no handovers, no gaps in responsibility.
  • No showroom model. We work from your home and your space, not from a catalogue.
  • Every kitchen is designed from scratch for your room and the way you actually use it.
  • Built in our own UK workshop to the tolerances a properly bespoke kitchen requires.
  • Designed and built to last, not something you will be replacing a decade from now.

Begin Your Kitchen Design

If you are thinking about a new kitchen in Altrincham, the best place to start is a conversation. Tell us about your home, the space you are working with, and what you are hoping to achieve. We will take it from there, at whatever pace suits you.

A design consultation is a practical conversation, not a sales appointment. We come to your home, look at the space properly, and talk through what the project could look like. There is no pressure and no obligation, just a straightforward starting point for your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a bespoke kitchen from Mastercraft typically cost?

It varies significantly depending on the size of your room, the materials you choose, the appliances you want to include, and the level of storage detail in the design. A larger kitchen with complex cabinetry, stone worktops and high-specification appliances will cost more than a simpler layout in a smaller room. What we can say is that the kitchens we design and build are a serious investment, typically starting from around fifty thousand pounds and rising from there depending on the project. The most useful thing we can do is look at your space, understand what you want, and give you an accurate figure based on your kitchen specifically.

Do you work on larger renovation projects or extensions?

Yes, and it is actually where having design and manufacturing under one roof is most valuable. When your kitchen is part of a wider building project, an extension, a full ground-floor remodel, or a significant renovation, having one team who designs and makes the cabinetry means your kitchen can be properly integrated into the plans from the start. You are not waiting for a builder to finish and then trying to fit a kitchen into whatever space remains. We can work alongside your architect or contractor from the early stages.

How long does the whole process take from first conversation to finished kitchen?

It depends on the complexity of your project and our current production schedule, but as a general guide, you should plan for several months from the point of signing off the design to installation. The design process itself takes a few weeks of conversation, revision and finalisation. Once you are happy with the plans and manufacturing begins, your kitchen is built in our workshop before the installation team arrives. We will give you a clear timeline once we understand your project properly.

What happens at the first design consultation?

We come to your home, look at the room, and have a proper conversation about how you use your kitchen and what you want from the new one. We will look at the space together, talk through layout options, discuss the features that matter most to you, and give you a realistic sense of what is possible. There is no obligation after that meeting, it is simply the right way to begin.

Can you work with rooms that have unusual features or awkward proportions?

Yes, and those are often the most interesting projects to work on. Chimney breasts, alcoves, sloping ceilings, structural walls that cannot move, these are all resolved at the design stage. Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we are not limited to standard cabinet sizes. If your room needs something specific, we build it specifically.

What styles of kitchen do you design?

We do not work from a fixed range of styles. The design comes from your home, your taste, and the architecture of the space. That might be a clean, contemporary kitchen with handleless doors and stone worktops. It might be a more traditional design with painted cabinetry that suits the period of your home. It might be something in between. We will talk through what feels right for your home and develop something that is genuinely yours.

How is the cabinetry actually made?

Everything is made in our own UK workshop. Each cabinet is built and assembled in the workshop before it is delivered to your home, not flat-pack components that go together on site. That means tighter joints, more consistent finishes, and a result that is properly made rather than assembled under pressure in a live room. Every dimension is taken from your room, so everything is built to fit your space exactly.

Who carries out the installation?

Our own installation team. They are not subcontractors who pick up a new project each week, they are part of the same operation that designed and manufactured your kitchen. That means they understand exactly what has been built and how it is supposed to go together. Any questions that come up during installation are answered by people who have been part of your project from the start.

Do you supply appliances as well?

Yes. We can supply and integrate appliances as part of your kitchen project. We work with a range of quality appliance brands and will talk through the options that suit the way you cook and how you want your kitchen to work. If you have appliances you want to keep or have already chosen, we design around those.

We are still at the early planning stage. Is it too soon to get in touch?

Not at all, in fact, earlier is better. If your kitchen is part of a renovation or extension, getting the design right before building work begins makes a real difference to how well the finished result comes together. Even if you are at the thinking stage, a conversation now helps you understand what is possible and what the process involves. There is no pressure to commit to anything.

How many times will someone visit before the kitchen is installed?

At least twice before manufacturing begins, once for the initial consultation and once for a precise measured survey of your room. Depending on the complexity of your project, we may visit again during the design process to check details or work through specific decisions with you. Once the design is finalised and signed off, your kitchen goes into production and we come back to install it.

Do you work across Altrincham, or only in certain parts?

We work across the whole of Altrincham and into the surrounding area, including Hale, Bowdon, Timperley, Sale, and further into Greater Manchester. If you are not sure whether your location falls within our area, just ask, we will give you a straightforward answer.
