Here is the updated plasterers role with CIS and qualifications added, keeping the same structure throughout:
Page Title: Plasterer / Plastering Contractor
About the Role
Mastercraft Kitchens designs and installs bespoke fitted kitchens for private clients across the UK. Every project is planned and built around the individual client, and the quality of our installation work is central to the standard we maintain.
We are currently looking for experienced plasterers and plastering teams to work with us on a full-time or contract basis. This is a busy, ongoing role that suits those who take real pride in their work and are looking for consistent, well-organised projects.
What the Work Involves
You will carry out all plastering work required as part of each kitchen installation. Projects are based at private residential properties across the UK, so the ability to travel and work away from home is a regular part of the role. You will work alongside other skilled trades throughout each project.
What We Are Looking For
A minimum of 15 years of hands-on plastering experience is preferred. Beyond that, we are looking for people who are reliable, professional, and consistent in the standard of their finish.
You will also need:
- A valid driving licence and your own vehicle
- The ability to travel to project sites across the UK, with overnight stays when required
- Availability for full-time work, including periods of higher demand
- A CSCS card (preferred but not essential)
Qualifications and Certifications
The following are required or strongly preferred:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering (Solid or Fibrous), or demonstrable equivalent experience
- CSCS card relevant to your trade level, either Skilled Worker or Advanced Craft (preferred)
- Site Safety Plus or equivalent health and safety awareness certification (preferred)
- A working knowledge of current British Standards relating to plastering, including BS EN 13914 for internal plastering and rendering
Candidates must be able to provide references and photographic evidence of completed work that demonstrates the standard of their finish.
CIS and Tax
This role operates under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). You will be responsible for registering with HMRC as a CIS subcontractor prior to starting work if you have not already done so. Payments will be made under standard CIS deduction rates unless you hold gross payment status. You are responsible for managing your own tax affairs, National Insurance contributions, and any associated accountancy requirements. If you are unsure about your CIS registration, we recommend speaking with an accountant familiar with the construction industry before applying.
Skills and Attributes
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates your standard of work
- Genuine attention to detail at every stage of a project
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well alongside other trades
- A calm, professional attitude that reflects the expectations our clients have
Team Applications
Applications from established plastering teams are welcome. Please include a brief description of your team structure, the number of operatives, and examples of relevant past work. Teams must also be able to confirm that all operatives are registered under CIS before commencing work.
Questions for Applicants
When applying, please address the following where relevant:
- Can you describe your experience and provide examples that demonstrate your quality of finish?
- Are you able to travel across the UK and work away from home when required?
- Can you provide references from recent projects or previous employers?
