TRUSTED BY HOMEOWNERS ACROSS THE REGION

Bespoke Kitchens Designed Around Your Buckinghamshire Home

Whether you are in a large detached home in the Chiltern Hills, a Georgian townhouse in Aylesbury or Buckingham, or a riverside property near Marlow, your kitchen project starts with your actual space. Not a catalogue. Not a range of units adjusted to fit. The way your kitchen works, feels, and flows day to day comes down to how well it was designed around your specific home from the outset.

Every Mastercraft kitchen is designed around your space, built in our own UK workshop, and installed by our own team from beginning to end. Because design, manufacturing and installation all sit with the same people, there is no handover between separate contractors. The person who designs your kitchen understands exactly how it will be made. Nothing gets assumed or lost between stages.

From First Conversation to Finished Kitchen

Your project starts in your home. We come to you, look at the space properly, and begin to understand what you need your kitchen to do. From there, the design takes shape around your room, your proportions, your preferences. Once the design is agreed, your kitchen is manufactured in our own workshop. Our team then installs it. You are not left coordinating trades or chasing progress. One team carries your project through from the first visit to the day it is finished.

Because design, manufacturing and installation all sit within one team, your project is never passed from one contractor to another. The people who designed your kitchen understand exactly how it will be built. The people fitting it know what was designed, and why. In practical terms that means fewer assumptions, fewer errors, and no one arriving on site who is seeing your plans for the first time.

How We Approach the Design of Your Kitchen

We do not begin with a catalogue or a fixed range. We start with your room. Its shape, its light, how you move through it, how it connects to the rest of your home. Getting the layout and proportions right comes first. The visual decisions, the doors, the finishes, the details, follow from that foundation. Not the other way around.

Buckinghamshire covers a wide range of homes. Large Chilterns detached houses, executive new builds, period properties in the villages, riverside homes along the Thames, Georgian townhouses in the market towns. Each project starts from a different point. Your home has its own proportions, its own constraints, its own possibilities. We approach your project on its own terms. No template. No attempt to fit a design that was drawn for a different kind of space.

If your room has a chimney breast, an awkward alcove, a sloping ceiling, or a wall that cannot move, those things are resolved at the design stage, not worked around on the day of fitting. Your kitchen is designed to sit within the architecture of your home. By the time manufacturing begins, everything is already accounted for.

Your Kitchen, Built to Last

Your kitchen is made in our own UK workshop, built specifically for your home. Every cabinet is rigid and factory assembled, not flat-pack components put together on site. That matters because factory assembly produces tighter tolerances, a more consistent finish, and a more accurate fit when your kitchen goes in. What arrives at your home is a finished product, not a kit. You can read more about how we approach quality and manufacturing if you want to understand what that means in practice.

The same standard runs through the whole kitchen, not just the surfaces you see. Drawer runners, hinges, interior fittings, all specified and finished to the same level as the doors, handles and worktops you interact with every day. The parts that work hardest are often the ones you rarely look at. Getting those right is what determines how well your kitchen holds up over the years.

Because we make your kitchen ourselves, we are not limited to standard dimensions or catalogue options. If your room has an unusual width, a run beneath a sloping ceiling, or an alcove that needs something specific, we build exactly what is required. Your space sets the brief. We build to fit it.

  • Rigid cabinetry, factory assembled before it arrives at your home
  • Built in our own UK workshop, not outsourced to a third party
  • Every fitting specified to the same standard as the visible surfaces
  • Made to your exact dimensions, not adjusted from a standard size

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Mastercraft kitchen project take from start to finish?

It depends on the complexity of your project, but as a rough guide you should allow around twelve to sixteen weeks from the point your design is agreed to installation being complete. The design stage varies depending on how straightforward your room is and how quickly decisions are made. We will give you a realistic timeline at the start of your project and keep you updated throughout.

What happens at the initial consultation?

We come to your home. We look at the space, take note of the room's dimensions, its quirks, how it connects to the rest of your house, and we talk through what you want your kitchen to do. There is no obligation at this stage. The consultation is about understanding your project properly before any design work begins.

Can you work with unusual rooms, awkward layouts, or difficult architectural features?

Yes, and those situations are often where bespoke design matters most. If you have a chimney breast running through the kitchen, a ceiling that drops on one side, an alcove that does not match standard unit widths, or a doorway in an inconvenient place, all of that is addressed during the design process. Because we make your kitchen ourselves, nothing has to conform to a catalogue dimension.

What kitchen styles do you offer?

We do not work from a fixed range, but we work across all the styles you are likely to be considering. Shaker kitchens are among the most popular across Buckinghamshire, particularly in period and Chiltern village properties, but we also design and build in-frame kitchens for a more traditional feel and handleless kitchens for cleaner, more contemporary spaces. The style starts with your home and what works for it.

How does the manufacturing process work?

Once your design is finalised and signed off, your kitchen goes into production in our own UK workshop. Every cabinet is built rigid and fully assembled before it leaves the workshop. We do not deliver flat-pack components for assembly on site. What arrives at your home is a finished product, made to the exact dimensions of your room.

Do you handle the full installation, or do I need to arrange other trades separately?

Our team handles the installation from start to finish. You do not need to coordinate a separate fitter. We manage the process, and because the same team that designed and built your kitchen is carrying out the fit, there are no gaps in understanding between what was planned and what goes in.

Can you work alongside my architect or interior designer?

Yes, and we do so regularly. If you are working with an architect on an extension, or an interior designer on the wider scheme, we are happy to work alongside them. We can collaborate at the design stage to make sure the kitchen fits within the broader plans for your home, and we are used to working within specifications that have been set by another professional. Good communication between teams makes a project run more smoothly, and we approach those relationships practically.

What if I am designing a large open-plan kitchen-diner or a kitchen as part of an extension?

Large open-plan spaces and new extensions are a significant part of what we work on across Buckinghamshire, particularly in the larger detached homes across the Chilterns and Thames Valley. These projects need more careful thought about layout, zoning, how the kitchen reads from the living space, and how it functions when the two areas are used simultaneously. We approach the design of those rooms as a whole, not just the kitchen run in isolation. If your project involves an extension or a substantial reconfiguration, it is worth discussing early so the kitchen design can inform, or at least align with, the wider build.

How much does a bespoke Mastercraft kitchen cost?

Bespoke kitchens vary considerably depending on the size of the room, the materials chosen, the complexity of the layout, and the appliances included. As a realistic guide, most projects we work on fall somewhere between £25,000 and £80,000, with larger or more complex kitchens sitting above that. The honest answer is that cost is determined by your specific project, and we would rather give you an accurate figure once we understand what you need than quote a number that does not reflect your room. We will be clear on costs at the design stage before anything is agreed.

Do you cover the whole of Buckinghamshire, including smaller towns and villages?

Yes. We work across the full county, including smaller market towns, rural villages, and areas outside the main towns. Whether you are in Beaconsfield, out in the Chilterns villages, or further north towards Buckingham, your location does not affect how we approach your project. Geography is not a barrier.

I am in the early stages of planning. Is it too soon to get in touch?

Not at all. The earlier we are involved, the more useful we can be. If you are still at the stage of working out what is possible, thinking through layout options, or deciding whether to extend, a conversation at that point can help you understand what a bespoke kitchen project actually involves before you commit to anything. There is no obligation in speaking to us early.

How is a Mastercraft kitchen different from what I would get through a high street kitchen retailer?

The main difference is in how your kitchen is created. A retailer works from a fixed range of units in set sizes. The design process is essentially about selecting from what exists and adjusting it to fit your room. With Mastercraft, your kitchen is designed from scratch around your space, made to your exact dimensions in our own workshop, and fitted by the same team that designed it. There is no standard range. Every decision is made in response to your home. For rooms that are not straightforward, or for projects where quality and longevity genuinely matter, that difference is significant. You can read more about how we work if you want a clearer picture of the process.
