This is Blum's heavy-duty runner system designed specifically for pull-out larder units. It's the mechanical foundation that allows your tall larder storage to glide smoothly in and out of the cabinet, carrying up to 120kg of stored goods.
Where It Fits
These runners work with standard pull-out larder frames in cabinets with a minimum internal depth of 505mm. You'll find them in tall storage units where you need reliable access to heavy loads of tinned goods, bottles, or bulk storage items.
How It Works
The full-extension mechanism pulls the entire larder frame completely out of the cabinet, giving you access to items stored at the very back. Soft-open means a gentle push starts the smooth outward motion, while soft-close draws the unit back in silently and securely. The ClickFixx system handles automatic synchronisation, so both runners move together without adjustment.
Why It Matters
Heavy larder storage creates significant stress on the hardware. A 120kg capacity means you can load your larder with substantial weight without worrying about the mechanism failing or becoming difficult to operate. The soft-motion control prevents slamming, which protects both your stored items and the cabinet structure over years of daily use.
Build Quality
Blum builds these runners with an anthracite finish that resists wear in the demanding environment of a working kitchen. The lifetime guarantee reflects the engineering quality, though like any mechanical system, the smooth operation depends on proper installation and reasonable use within the weight limits.
Design Consideration
This system works well when you have substantial storage needs and the cabinet depth to accommodate the full-extension travel. However, the 505mm minimum internal depth requirement means it won't work in shallower cabinets, and the substantial mechanism does reduce some internal storage volume compared to fixed shelving.
